Many, many years ago, there was a pizza joint located in Champlain Heights called Hometown Pizza that we’d often grab takeout from. The mom and pop shop left the area and we eventually forgot all about them. Recently, we noticed a Hometown Pizza that was located on 57th Ave and Knight Street so we decided to drop by and see if it was in fact the same place. We didn’t see the former owner (guessing that ownership has changed hands over the years) but we did see a number of familiar items on the menu and decided to order the Factory Special pizza ($16.45 + $2 for added pineapple) which comes with ham, salami, pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, green peppers, cheese, and tomato sauce. Service was fairly quick and the pizza came out in about 10-15 minutes. The interior of this pizza place is actually quite spacious but it’s fairly stark inside and we almost thought the place wasn’t even open. In addition to their regular pizza, pasta, and chicken wing offerings, they also had some East Indian items on their menu as well.

Worst pizza place thus far. Food was cold, wings looked like they had been squished in a box for 24hours. The food looked nothing like in any of the pictures. And when I asked the business what they can do to help this situation, the lady repeatedly told me that there is nothing she can do to help their business at all. I would have preferred to give the food back. Very, very disappointing in not only the food, but the horribly poor customer service in regards. Unfortunately in order to write any review I had to give at least 1 star when in all honesty this does not deserve even a fragment of a star. Save your money, trust me. FYI, here is my reply to your reply. First off the pizza wasnt even eaten, we took part of it out to fit the wings next to it. And we shouldnt have to justify the picture at all. And I guess you agree with my review seeing how you did not even address much at all about what I was talking about, And if you stand behind your product so much then why such poor customer service?

I’m fairly disappointed at this place. We order here quite often actually almost every week. So we ordered the pizza for delivery today. And we didn’t get it for an hour. So We called to check estimate time. But when I asked, the guy over the phone was almost yelling at me, saying “ it will be there soon its on the way! delivery man went to your house but you didn’t open the door!” What??? Doesn’t make sense! We were waiting for the delivery, opening the door wide, but nobody came! Do Not make up the story! When the delivery man came, he said he had an issue on the way at other place! No communication among co-workers? , and the way you talked to me? Wow! I do not deserved to listen to your yelling. So as any customer! and when I opened the pizza box, surely the pizza was cold and hard. It totally ruined my appetite tonight. This was terrible experience. I don’t think we will order here again, so as all my friends around this neighbour.

I always give Hometown Pizza great reviews and ask my family and friends to also because Hometown usually deserves it. I always order the same pizza and get what I order with no problem . I order several times a month. I love my pizza lol. All DOUBLE toppings. TONIGHT WAS DIFFERENT!!! I ordered for DELIVERY my usual. The order taker couldn’t get the toppings right, asking me to repeat it several times and forgetting what I had said. Then she asked me if I could PICK UP??? I asked why? I ordered for DELIVERY. She said it would be faster if I PICKED UP , 50 minutes for delivery. Again “ You want to PICK UP??? NO. Waited 1 hour. No problem. Wanted my usual pizza, I could wait. Same woman delivered the pizza. I paid cash, gave a $50. She didn’t have the proper change (was lucky I had the right amount), but I had to go get it.

  • She said HURRY, my KIDS are IN the CAR*?!?!? REALLY?? My PIZZA was TOTALLY WRONG!! NO double anything. I paid for double everything, obviously not knowing the pizza was wrong when I paid. Even gave a tip. I TRIED CALLING the restaurant back but got NO answer over and over. I’m guessing the order taker/delivery woman/ working Mom (possible cook) had to take her kids home. Stuff happens. I get that but it shouldn’t affect the customers. I’m EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the service I received tonight from Hometown Pizza.... I will call tomorrow and see what they have to say about this. I hope there’s a reasonable resolution to my issue with Hometown Pizza. I’ll...

The single worst pizza experience I have ever had. We ordered two medium pizzas and upon opening them up they were both under-cooked so badly that we could pull up the dough and it would come up in strings. I have never seen a pizza so thoroughly uncooked before. The people I was with refused to eat the pizza so I called up to see what they would say. The woman on the phone immediately started yelling at me at a fevered pitch like I was a puppy who just peed on the carpet. She said her pizzas were never under-cooked and I could have asked to have it extra cooked if I didn't want it doughy. I told her that it was not even regularly cooked and no-one was willing to eat it. She told me that it was because of the veggies which caused moisture on the dough which didn't explain why the other pizza, devoid of any veggies, was just as bad. When I mentioned this the yelling was taken to new heights. I have not been yelled at like that for a couple decades so I decided whatever was going on in her life was not worth it for me to continue the conversation. I ended up firing up the oven and cooking both pizzas for a full 15 minutes extra. Will never go back. Do...

I would give it more stars if the food actually shows up. I was told 40min which I thought was long already when I'm 5min away drive. It been 1hour. Don't bother showing up because I'm not paying.. So after over an hour and 20min waiting it has finally arrived. When I already called back and said to cancel it 20min ago lol they obviously don't communicate with drivers. I was told driver left 30min ago and arrived 50min later when I live only "4MIN!!!"away wow. Second time calling and I don't remember getting my pizza the last time either. Hard to give it a try when your food doesn't arrive! Only reason I called is because SUPREME PIZZA was not open yet till 12pm. I would rather wait again. Rather than accept the food from hometown. Who know what the driver has been doing with for more than 30min on the road for a 4min destination lol wow OMG how is this place still operates. 10:45 I made the call from hometown. Canceled at 12pm and ordered from SUPREME instead. Its now 12:18 and im very hungry. Thanks hometown for not even offering me...
