Friends and I used to come to Forecast often when it opened, it was a great refuge especially in the winter. It had a nice atmosphere where you could really appreciate the space and would only get super busy at peak hours. The coffee was decent and having that versatility with good alcohol and food options as well made it a pretty unique offering. After the first year and few months or so, word got around and it was absolutely packed at almost all times ā fair enough, we couldn't really be that upset that other people liked a place we liked. However, the increase in demand was met with poor planning, new menu changes for which the staff were unprepared. We saw constant staff turnover, with people who got more rude and had less training. We were disappointed but not surprised with this as well ā it's to be expected in the Vancouver service industry in 2022/2023. The last time we went we waited about 40 minutes for expensive but mediocre breakfast bowls. As someone who has worked in kitchens, I don't believe the kitchen is equipped to put out food at the level they demand for such a large space.
The breaking point came for me a few months ago when I went to go do some work and it was busy, so I waited for a table along the window. The manager came over to inform me that I was in the "laptop-free zone" during "laptop-free hours". He moved me to the "laptop zone": the narrow, crowded bar in the middle of the room. I obliged and continued to work until my computer died and I started reading a book, at which point he came up to me a SECOND time and had me move BACK INTO the "laptop-free zone" as I was no longer on my laptop. I watched similar things happen to people near me, who were also confused. When you have line-ups and overwhelmed staff, re-arranging your customers like furniture is condescending and a complete waste of time. Forecast needs to get its priorities straight, focusing on good food and good service before anything else. I hope that this place can get back on track as I miss going there, but every time I think about it, I know that it's not worth the hassle...

I ordered a medium Mocha and Almond croissant, and both tasted fresh. I had to wait for my drink for around 5 minutes. So, overall was a good experience, but let's rate this wonderful place:
Food&Drink: as I mentioned before, everything was fresh, and my almond croissant was perfect; a little crunch, not sweetness and the cream inside were so yummy! They have many options, and everything looks delicious.
Price: It's fair and affordable. My order was around $ 11 (without tips).
Customer Service: The staff was gentle and gave me instructions on how to get and wait for my drink. They have a little station with napkins, sugar, cutlery, etc... It was the only thing I think they could improve. Some customers don't see where it is.
Space: I felt I was in a kind of "co-work space," the ambient is modern, with high tables (some are individuals) and a big table in the middle, where you can sit and enjoy the view outside. But if you can't work with some noise around, you might don't like it. During my meeting, someone was very excited and laughed a lot, lol.
Cleaning: It was okay, as it should be.
Location: It's at a busy zona; I did walk there. The day was sunny, and the sun encouraged me to walk for 40 min and worth! Those familiar with the area know it is difficult to find a park, especially during the day. If you are lucky, maybe you can park around. Otherwise, walk or by public transportation.
Thank you for reading it, and I hope it is helpful! Enjoy what...
