I noticed this place 3 years ago and had been meaning to try them. My friend was kind enough to invite me to a birthday dinner and she gave me three choice for location. I picked Good Choice. The restaurant is very small – perfect size for a family dinner. We had a great meal. All the items were good except for the BBQ duck. I would not order the BBQ duck again. Two of us came back for a meal because we were craving Braised Egg Tofu. We were pleasantly surprised that they offer us the lunch dim sum menu as well. A lot of the lunch items were perfect for a table of two. That meant we were able to try more dishes and not have to worry about eating the same left overs forever. We asked for a dish that was not on the menu – deep fried black cod. They dipped it in some kind of sticky batter which was nicer than flour. Unfortunately though, my partner claimed that his piece was still cold inside. I finished the rest of the black cod, it wasn't as steaming hot as it should have been. Lots of bones. Next time, we will stick with what's on the menu. I am giving this place a five star because of what it is – a great family size restaurant, with perfect serving size for the two of us (and larger serving size for the family), able to customize, and most of all, for a very nice lady who might be the owner/manager who smiled at us and really welcomed us even though we were strangers. We came back for lunch. MSG is more prominent with the lunch...
Read moreOur group of 5 +1kid arrived early for dinner but they almost refuse us for not making reservations. Although we know that they are always packed coz we lived close by, we just wanted to give a try for the first time. They dont have a choice as we saw couple of empty tables. Soon as we sat down we were entertained right away and order 6 dishes w/c is almost all their popular menu including the special that we copied from the next table. Service was a little slow, understandable as they are busy but they almost forgot one of our menu (special chow mein) till we reminded them. When it arrived we don't feel its special anymore as it's our all time favorite whenever we go for Chinese restaurant. We asked them to packed for take out instead with some other dishes as we are already full, due to our substantial order. To our surprise, our waiter complimenting us free desserts (bean soup) he gained the stars. We were thinking they may regret if they didn't allow us to dine in by collecting almost $300 bill. We dont mind the price though, as long as we enjoy the food as one of us is celebrating birthday but didnt meet our expectations.Their fried rice was tasty but others are ok. How could this restaurant been busy always, the fact that they are way overpriced compare to other restaurant with much better taste and ambiance? With this not so inviting place, we are not coming back there as we have a lot of option in the...
Read moreBelow is a review from a year ago, here is a new one from last week. We went in on Wednesday, Not to busy, just the two of us. The older lady did not want to seat us because she wanted more people at a table, i pointed to a table and sat down. We could both see she was not too happy. We ordered from the younger girl who was very friendly and the food was great. When we got our food to go and asked for the bill and said to put 15% gratuity on it. The older lady watched over the younger one ringing in the charge yelled out what no tip!! My gf said we told you 15%. That is the last time we will ever go there. Been going there for years.
Our review a year ago. The dim sum is always good, friendly owners.
We went back again last week in September, two 5 person tables open, no lineup and the old lady was back, she frowned when she seen it was only two of us. She walked up to us and said 30 minute wait. With 2 tables open. I know they do not take reservations, while we waited 3 people showed up.the old lady asked how many people and they answered 3. She then showed them the table. 10 minutes later 3 more showed up and were given the other table. Then we were told 45 minute wait. Never again and I hope...
