Food: Overall, the foods were like having a delicious homecooked Filipino feast with generous portions! I chose a lunch special; they gave an in-house soup as a complimentary appetizer. It does remind me of having a veggie & Chinese shark fin soup, and it does taste great — it compensates my time of waiting for the main course 🍲 Then the pork adobo w/ lumpiang meal combo arrived. They were so savoury, really flavourful, and all well-cooked! Definitely an excellent value and worth the try 🍛 The portion size was like 2 servings worth, so it may be worth bringing a lunch box if eating alone (they charge $1 / container). Then I had the buko pandan sherbet for dessert. It had just the right amount of sweetness and a nice coconuty creaminess. It's like a milkshake, but Filipino edition. 🍧 Also, it was a tall cup worth nearly 2 servings! However, my only slight dislike was some handful of bubble tea pearls having the undercooked, gritty texture on their inner-center. I don't mind since that is a tolerable minor issue. Service: I went for a one person dine-in. After going through the menu, I waited for over 10 minutes, while seeing a group of patrons who were after me, already being serviced. Then I put my coat on and was about to leave till a server lady quickly attended me—I finally had my order taken. Moreover, the server staff don't really check up on the patrons, so I'd have to grab their attention if I wanted something. But they were cordial nonetheless, since they did, at least, provide the takeout containers as requested. In conclusion, the service can be frustrating at the start even if it's not too busy—from my own experience.

To summarize, the food tastes great, the portion is big and the price is reasonable. Pin pin restaurant is an authentic Philippine restaurant. For those who like to have a little adventurous dine out, pin pin restaurant can be a great choice. Love the crispy pata. The portion is really big, enough to eat for a family of 4. They cut the meat and skin to little pieces, you can just take it by the fork and eat it in pieces. Skin is really crispy, and the meat is perfectly cook. Pancit bihon is also our family favourite. The taste is really amazing. Lots of flavour and the glass noodle cooks perfectly. Vegetables and the meat all mixed together, a little bit oily, but that is the nature of the dishes. We also have squid for the main menu. It cooks perfectly and tastes sweet from the squid. The squid can be cold really fast, just make sure you asked the server to re heat it if its get cold or eats it faster. After all the main items, we choose halo as our dessert. Ice cream with few toppings, not too sweet which is great for us. Service is amazing, the server is helpful and friendly. We were in the restaurant 40 minutes before they closed, and they still allowed us to dine in and allowed ua to finished our meal. We have a great experience in Pin Pin restaurant, we will surely be back again with more people to dine. This place is great to dine in with more people so you can try more from the menu.

I had the most horrible Filipino food at Pin Pin. I ordered takeout (oxtail Kare Kare and 2 fresh lumpia). It was my mom’s first time trying Filipino food and after her experience at Pin Pin, she said she will never try Filipino food again. The oxtail and vegetables had no flavour and it seemed like the cook just dunked them boiled into the sauce while the fat from the oxtail went into another dish to save money. The peanut sauce also didn’t have peanut flavour, the bok choy was not cooked enough and had a bleach taste to it and the tripe was too soft and overcooked. The kare kare was ridiculously expensive — at $30 without rice (we added the spaghetti from home as pictured). It should be thrown in the trash. The fresh lumpia also tasted weird. Altogether, we spent almost $50 on the horrible food. I haven’t been to Pin Pin in years and remembered the food tasting a lot better. Either they changed the cook or I had super low expectations of Filipino food back then. When I complained to the server on the phone, she made no compensations. What a huge disappointment. The food was pure awful and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. I would give this restaurant 0 stars if I could.

Easily one of the WORST filipino restaurants to go too in vancouver or the whole canada.

I “tried” coming back after 9 years since the first time did not empress me at all. The food tasted not fresh and frozen taste dishes.

After trying again just today, the presentation came out the same, the kare kare was soo thick and zero flavour, beef did not hold well together. The vegetables with the gata was packed with MSG and coconut milk- that one was okay.

The service was horrible, i had the manager come out in hopes to express the disappointment about the dishes and so instead she gave us a whole lecture that they wont be able to replace the food, that we shouldn’t come here again after 9 years if it wasnt good, go to a high end place instead of here.

Its truly frustrating that as an experienced cook and also a restauranteur back home that we specialize in filipino Chinese food… and having someone lecture us thinking that we dont know what we are talking about.

I thought that after 9 years they have improved in their dishes and it’s truly not. This is super embarrassing for others who have not truly tasted the best filipino food. If anyone reading this, i highly highly recommend kulinarya in...
