Establishment: the customer area is pretty neat and hygiene. Family friendly environment with a minimalist touch such is very nice and welcoming. The kitchen area is completely cover, no idea how hygiene or clean the area and the staff are. Fingers cross is as good as you think.
Food: Tasting wise; the food is ok. Quality is not great. Not a major wow, but still Waffles are ok.
The waffle bites with different flavors have a desiring look but taste wise are not that good, again the quality of some ingredients like the ice cream are not really good.
*not vegan or many vegetarian optionsnot recommended if you are hoping for that. Go somewhere else. I made my own veggie waffle version, but still was really a lazy basic.
The juices are from the bottle, they are not fresh juices. They will add pieces of fruit to make it look like it's fresh.
They charge for the sauces. There is only Ketchup, siracha available for self service.
The gravy its not very tasty. Don't bother.
Parking: is on Fraser and its pay parking. There is always extra paid parking on the parking lot at the back.
Service: It is mostly self service. So, if you expect someone to come to your table and check on you, it won't happen. You order at the cashier, help yourself with your water,...
Read moreOrdered the fried chicken and curly fries , as well as a lavender lemonade - chicken was super crispy and delicious, as well as the curly fries . Amazed that they had so many potato iterations to choose from as a side dish - tatertots, waffle fries, garlic fries, hash brown, regular fries, and curly fries lol
The lavender lemonade didn’t really taste anything like lavender so I wish I went with one of their milkshakes instead, which I was eyeing at neighbouring tables
The cafe is very small - myself as a group of 6 came here on a rainy Saturday and miraculously were able to find seating . I was pleasantly surprised just how many board games were available - we ended up playing a game that we brought with us but it’d be great to play an in-house game the next time we visit again
The lowest point to our visit was the incredibly slow service due to a single person working both as a cashier, cook and server - a simple fried chicken and curly fries order took over 40mins to be served . So hopefully staff plan better for the future, knowing that weekends will be way busier and require more ppl working to improve customer service
Overall food and vibes were great and it’d be great to visit again and try more...
Read moreOriginally came across this place because I wanted to go to a board game café that wasn’t closed on a holiday. Though they do have a selection of a few games, the main attraction I’d say is their food! I got menu item C (Mac n cheese and chicken bombs) and the quality of food is stellar. I also got the regular Oreo shake, which also has great quality. I unfortunately didn’t try more than that but the eggs, hash browns, bacon, waffles, etc. looked really good as well as my friends got them, and judging by the other reviews, they seem to be good as well. The reason why this is four stars instead of five is because the food is actually quite pricey. Which, yeah, I know, this is Vancouver, but I can get equally good food someplace else for less. Maybe I'm just uneducated and this is how much chicken and waffles normally costs, I don't know. Don't get me wrong though, I still love this place. Very homey atmosphere, friendly staff, and like I said, stellar food. And I still highly recommend this place if you ever need a place to get dessert, or even if you need a place to eat, period. If you're not in a tight budget like I am, it's...
