BEFORE YOU GO: Tell the staff you want lids for your food before you order, otherwise you'll have to pay 10 cents per lid if you order after the fact - which this concept is ridiculous and something I've NEVER had to do at any food establishment.
Naturally, some patrons may have leftovers. Asking for a lid should be part of your payment. Lids should be provided when asked for at any time. When told I had to pay for each lid, I almost didn't mind paying until I heard the Manager's defense.
The Manager, named Jay, is INCREDIBLY rude, disrespectful, and lacks any sort of customer service.
As a Filipina, I can say he's the prime example of some Filipinos who make the majority of Filipinos look awful and terrible. We're wonderful people. Please don't let him represent the rest of us.
When told he was rude, he nonchalantly said, "Thank you."
You must not care about your establishment's reputation.
Verbatim, he defended his lid policy by saying the following:
"If you can't pay for the lids, then just leave your food." - What the heck rationale is that? Patrons paid for their food with their own, hard-earned money. They will not waste all that food. Common sense would be to take the leftovers home.
"We assume that if you don't order to-go, or don't ask for lids before you pay, that you're going to finish ALL your food. This lessens the plastic waste." - Nice for caring for the enviromment, but if expecting patrons to finish all the dishes they ordered ENTIRELY before they leave your restaurant is your strategy to saving the planet, you're misguided and delusional.
There is no notice posted anywhere in the restaurant addressing the aforementioned reasons. Doesn't seems to be an official policy I saw in-store, website, or social media. You just have to know these things before you enter, I suppose.
The Manager gives off inarticulate, entitled, unintelligent, and uncouth. Horrible human being.
The rest of the staff are absolutely friendly, warm, kind, and super sweet. You're greeted with their lovely smiles. Seem like a fun group. They're efficient and speedy. Outstanding service. The staff are the sense of family the Filipino culture is known for.
Difficult to believe they work for a deficient Manager. They deserve a far more competent Manager.
If you're still going to patronize this restaurant, just remember:
Order lids before you pay for your meal (if it's not already to-go).
Finish ALL the food you ordered and brought back to your table. Even if you're stuffed, power through and finish every morsel.
All of this wasn't so much about the lids. It concerns garbage service from management. It perpetuates a misguided perception that Filipinos may be bad-mannered and unprofessional. Our people are nothing like Jay, The Manager. We are brighter than him. The Filipino people are proudly welcoming, caring, and familial...
Read moreFood is great here. It’s as close as you can get to your typical Filipino food.
But the good stuff ends there. Overall experience is just disappointing and frustrating.
Went in today and the store is just total chaos.
Cashier is just ready to leave and end her shift — packing takeouts slowly. Food server, similar to other reviews, is just rude. They asked our order, then as I was saying my order, they just abruptly went somewhere/talked to someone else — no manners at all which is just disgusting and disappointing. When we asked if we can pay for our order since we’re on a hurry, they even sarcastically shouted “these guys are saying they’re in a hurry, can someone help them?”, without even volunteering to transact us instead.
As we were about to pay our order, someone else skipped the line cause they had “advanced order” — but unsurprisingly they don’t have it anywhere, even though they acknowledged they got their call.
With all this chaos, the owner is just hovering around instead of directing or jumping in to help.
Stay away from this location. Good food, but if you have something important going on for the food, just don’t risk it on this location. There are other Filipino restaurants in the area that are as good which you can definitely check out as well.
If someone’s gonna reply to this comment from the management, don’t blame the customers for your incompetence and mismanagement, as you have did on the other comments. It just reflects how the management takes in feedback publicly. The chance to make it right is the first time you talk to us, not when...
Read moreJust came in here to take out the Crispy Pork Sisig but while I am on the line up waiting, my husband said he wants to try the pork spring rolls and beef caldereta then i decided to try a small bowl of dinuguan as well. As soon as we arrived home, i first tried a little bit of everything we ordered, all of them are very delicious and there is only one part of me that makes me feel bad about the beef caldereta, i ordered a medium size bowl and i noticed there's a lot of small hard bones included inside the bowl, the same bite size of the beef as soon as i scooped in, so right away i tooked them out so we don't accidentally bite them and break our tooth or i dont want my husband to notice it and say something bad about it, I asked my husband to drive me all the way from Vancouver to their Fraser place so we can try their food and see what else the Restaurant can offer. Please don't get me wrong, I love all the food we ordered, they are delicious. I just don't get it why those hard small bones needs to be included on your beef caldereta? An answer from the Owner would be much appreciated po. We tried beef caldereta on other Filipino Restaurants in Ontario and Vancouver none of them had small hard bones included on the dish and they are also delicious like yours. If you think those bones added flavours to the dish, you can keep them with your recipe but please do not include the bones when you serve them to your...
