We asked for combo A and was served combo E, which was the more expensive meal. Upon paying the bill, we and the server realized of the mix-up and it appeared as though he misheard us when we ordered. When he ended up charging me for combo A instead, he short changed me and told me he would keep an two extra dollars of mine that was owed to me as part of my change.
Update: today my friend and I were going to go there for another dining experience and I was going to order bubble tea and she the rare beef noodle soup. I went in to grab a seat and order and she was on her way. Owner tells me about their policy of $8 minimum per person to dine in. He points to the signs saying this. The entire restaurant was empty, not a soul was in there, and he was implying I could not order the bubble tea and soup because it did not meet the $8 per person times two equals $16. I ended up not ordering anything and he lost our business in his already desperate for customers restaurant. Made no sense. I could totally see him imposing this on a busy day but that is bad business on his part and I told him no wonder your restaurant is empty, trying to find a way to force customers to buy his...
Read moreThis is a great little mom and pop shop let me tell you. I love finding hidden gems like this. I’ve just recently moved into the Strathcona neighbourhood in the downtown Eastside and I’m looking for my favourite food spots.
A really really nice man and his wife run this place very well.
My amazing girlfriend was the one that turned me onto this place.
When you call for your pick up order tomorrow make sure to tell him that a very pretty lady with the little girl told you to come and get a bowl of soup.
Trust me he will make you a very nice soup.
I honestly am not a fan of takeout food. These dining restrictions are affecting me as well not just our businesses that need our help. My point is that I really enjoyed this takeout food.
This is an update to my review for July 26, 2021
These are three of the best drinks we’ve ever had in the city.
Lychee, Mango and Strawberry.
We will come back here just for drinks. The kids went crazy...
Read moreMy recent visit to this restaurant in the downtown east side left me with a rather disappointing experience.
Upon entering, I observed a notice on the wall requesting a $15.99 minimum spending. I decided to try their chicken soup noodle, which was priced at $16.99 on the menu. To my dismay, when I reached the cashier, the bill had escalated to $20.
Regrettably, due to the rush, I didn't thoroughly inspect the receipt, assuming the extra charges were intentional tips. However, this lack of transparency is unacceptable, especially in a family-run establishment where customers should be valued and informed about any additional costs.
The food itself was mediocre; there was no 'wow' factor. Given the questionable billing practices and the overall experience, I cannot recommend this restaurant. A business should be built on honesty and fair practices, and unfortunately, this establishment falls short. A...
