I fell in love with Gong Cha when I found out it was actually from Taiwan with Taiwanese staff. You could see, taste and even hear the authenticity.
I loved going to the Coquitlam location. They have nice drinks and very luxurious venues. But their prices aren't very good.
When I got a notification for a discount on Chai Latte series, I went to the nearest one: the Kingsway one. A quaint hidden place, it was cute. But when I showed the staff the code, they looked confuses. I heard them whisper "what is chai Latte? Do we even still have this?" They turned to me and said they don't have it. Very unprofessional. Quite disappointed too. I came all the way from Burquitlam.
I realized that the newer bubble tea places don't have a a very good point system. Back then every store used a "buy 9 get 1 free" stamp card. These Taiwanese stores have a "buy 20 get one free topping" which is a total ripoff.
In Taiwan, these same bubble tea is only priced barely $1.12 CAD!! They are making more than quadruple the profit here in Canada. Even with the shopping import fee, it shouldn't be that dramatic.
Overall the staff weren't rude, and the quality seemed good. They use state of the art equipment. I like Gong Cha but please adjust the price. Then this place will...
Read more$4 donut id expect quality tasting donuts. Purple yam taste only sugar, same with blueberry one. Matcha is good but still very expensive for what it is for. Selections are few and whats on their menu board arent available. They should have regular flavours available [as in their menu] and advertised seasonal flavours as addition ti their selections so theres no disappoinments for people getting into your shop and no turn abouts leaving bad taste and probably wont be coming back potential customers. Had mago slush 50%sugar and its still very sweet, i wonder how sweet it would be if its not 50% sweet.
I wanna see this place run long as it got good potential as there arent much shop like this. Please consider cuatomer retention by lowering your donut price, 4bucks is too much specially in package box. Consider redusing your sugar and give true flavour for the donut like the yam, etc... and again the sugar in your drinks... and your regular and seasonal flavors availability for standard on ur menu.
Place is clean and the young lady at the counter was nice:)
Good luck... maybe il drop by again this summer with my kids who eat a lot! 2 donut each is not enough for them! [I also hope to see you in night market...
Read moreDo not recommend. They do not honor their "special". I was told that I could order as many drinks as I want but was only allowed 1 donut for $1.49 for my entire purchase. I was like "ok, then let's do 4 seperate orders for my 4 $1.49 donuts and an extra 6 donuts on top" I was told no. Mind you, these donuts are $3.49 each for about 3 bites of food. Always wanted to try one but never ended up trying one because they couldn't honour their special which states "2 donuts for the price of $1.49 each with the purchase of one drink at the drinks original price. Max 2 donuts per drink/order" very different from what the employee was allowing me to order regarding this special. My friend and I were upset and only purchased one drink and one donut for our other friend as we promised to deliver it to them. We refused to order anything for ourselves. I definitely will not recommend nor return. Also, the bubble tea we ordered looked nothing like how it does in the pic. Don't even know if she made...
