We ordered the Crawfish boil (with 2.5 pounds crawfish, at CAD80, a bit overpriced) and and some barbeques. The BBQ items are tasty and we do recommend the beef and chicken wings, if you do like the taste of the spice - ZiRan...
After we have finished more than half of the boil, we found a hair in it, we told the staff there and the manager (or maybe someone responsible) and a waitress came to us. The manager took the Crawfish wrapping by the hair and put it on a plate, a piece of long hair (that person just took one of our plates and even didn't ask us...) Then, they were trying to explain us the possible causes of this issue...they have given quite a lot of excuses though, they said it could be related to the broth, because they have purchased those in a large pack, and this may what their supplier provided to them... So, to us, they just don't want to admit the fault...
Then, they said they would like to compensate, and gave us 2 options, 10% off for this time or $30 cash coupon for the next visit...we said we won't be coming anymore, and that manager just said this is the best he could or he is able to offer to us... And he explained that we have finished more than half of the boil, and the crawfish is fresh and shipped by air, and he would not be able to replace another one or cancel this item from the bill... since we don't have another option, we took the 10% off... He said he hope that it could comfort us and explained again this is the best he could do... He asked us to have a look of their kitchen and asked the chef to come to us and explained that all the chefs there are gentlemen, and they all have covered the hair, and mentioned that even for the ladies there, all their hair are bundle up...
As we showed and mentioned that this couldnt compensate we have encountered, then he kind of turned to angry, he took out his wallet and took 2 pcs of $100 notes (I really don't understand his response to this matter as a management of a restaurant).. he said - ''how about I treat you guys this time... So this is on me.'' the attitude is so rude and arrogant... We rejected and we don't take free meal!!!!!
After that, he left and he came back to us again... He said they would remove the boil from our bill, and would like to treat us some desserts and drinks, we rejected again...at the end we have given additional 25% tips since we don't take free meal.... 1 star is given to the rude...
Read moreI came here with 4 friends for the first time today. I kinda hesitated at first, but still gave it a try, as there were quite many customers at the time. The staff gave us menu and water as soon as we seated. They also gave us a free dessert, coconut jelly (with coconut jelly and coconut water) coated with coconut flakes. It was soft, I quite enjoyed it. Then the waiter gave us menus, but they were all written in Chinese. There were some English translations for the options inside each category, but there were no translation for the Category itself, so we kinda lost which was hotpot menu, which was bbq menu. Fortunately, we had a Chinese friend in our group to ask the waiter to explain. We then ordered the hotpot with 3 flavours: no-spicy, the medium spicy, and the very spicy. The no-spicy broth tasted like miso soup, I liked it. I didn’t tried the other two, but my friends said they were very salty and not really spicy for us. This hotpot came with the pick-by-yourself skewers, which were stored in transparent-glass refrigerators. It was 69 cents for one skewer. There were many options for the skewers, my favorite were the chicken feet and fish tofu. You basically pay 69 cents for a chicken feet or a fish ball. We also ordered fried rice with egg, delicious. Then it got weird. They didn’t give us spoons for the rice, until we asked them. It was kinda hard to eat rice on plate and the spoon is for soup, not like the flat metal ones. And when we asked if they could us sauce for the skewers, they said we needed to pay, they couldn’t give us for free. We all thought this was strange and kinda ridiculous, we just asked for normal soy sauce...Eventually we paid $2.9 for a little bit of chili powder with oil. During the meal, the waiter never came to ask if we neeeded more water. We kinda hesitated to ask for the refill of water and hotpot broth, after the experience with the sauce story. We counted how many skewers we ate. It was 88 skewers for 5 people. Sounds a lot but actually not at all. Another friend and I didn’t even feel full to be honest. Then we asked for the bill. The waitress came to count the skewers. Fortunately, this restaurant accepted credit cards and debit cards, and the washroom was clean. A weird experience but the food was good, so each of us...
Read moreI realy wish there is a way to give 0 rating. 1 star is too much for this restaurant. Yesterday my friend and I visited this restaurant and ordered about 20 skewers and 1 hot pot. We waited about 10 minutes for the skeweres. It then took us about 20-30 minutes to finish the skewers but the hot pot was still not served. So I told them "well we already finished the food and the hot pot is still not here, please cancel it." Then about 5 minutes later this person with suite came to us and said "I am the manager at this restaurant. Please give us a minute, the food is almost ready." Then I told him "well cant you see that we already finished our food? Waiting 30 minutes for hot pot does not make sense to me." Here is the funny part. He then said "we are very busy right now, and it's not like you waited an hour or soemthing. There is no way for us to cancel your order. Sometimes our customers wait more than an hour when there is a long lineup." There is no point in going to a restaurant if I need to wait for half an hour to get my food. Plus, the restaruant was only like 30% full. At this point, I knew there is no point in talking to this guy so I told him I don't need the food but I'll pay for it and leave. Then he threw this card machine at me without saying a single word. Surprisingly, the bill did not include the hot pot we ordered but his attitude was still very rude and arrogant. Please never go to this place unless you want to see an arrogant manager who thinks watiing 30 minutes for food is normal. Dear manager/owner, please have some common sense. Telling customers that your restaurant is busy when more than half of tables are empty doesn't sound...
