My brother suggest to come to this sushi restaurant as he has tried it before with his family and has rave reviews so we decided to come here for his birthday lunch.
The restaurant is part of the hotel (not connected) and I believe it was previously a northern Chinese hot pot restaurant. Inside the restaurant was very nice, relaxing and spacious.
We ordered quite a few things: Beef Yaki Udon (stir pan fried beef udon) -- flavoured well but not a lot to share Salmon Tataki Salad (flame seared salmon, greens, garlic chip, yuzu ponzu) -- cool and refreshing. Aburi Platter (6 kinds of signature aburi oshi - atlantic salmon oshi, ebi oshi, saba oshi, yukke tuna oshi, hotate oshi & tobiko roll) -- out of this world ... highly recommend ordering this platter as each sushi was delicious! OMG Roll (spicy mayo & wasabi sauce, deep fried roll with prawn, salmon tempura, crabmeat) -- huge sushi as you can see from the size of my hand. A great deal for this sushi. Kimchi Bacon Ishiyaki (Kimchi & bacon, tamago in hot stone bowl) -- spicy as it has a good kick to it and tasted great. Mentraiko Cream Linguine (shrimp, mushroom, creamy sauce with cod roe) -- very creamy and yummy with umami flavours ... kids would love this dish.
Overall all the dishes were delicious and my family loved it. The service was excellent as they were very attentive to our needs. Will definitely come back here again in the future. Thank you for the...

Are you tired of the same old maki and nigiri sushi, craving something different while still enjoying rice? Look no further than oshi sushi!
This restaurant offers a wide variety of oshi sushi options. I highly recommend the eggplant oshi sushi. It’s a unique experience compared to your classic salmon and rice option. Don’t worry if you’re concerned about the eggplant being blended; it’s bursting with flavour.
Two other vegetarian options I suggest are the tomato kimchi and kinoko ishiyaki. Yes, they may sound unusual, but trust me, you’ll love the natural umami flavours.
If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to try the sake ice cream and red bean taiyaki. They are both incredibly delicious.
Now, let’s talk about the service. Our waitresses were incredibly friendly and attentive, and there were no complaints. They even paid close attention to the details, which is rare in Vancouver restaurants. They definitely earned an extra point from me.
The ambiance of the restaurant is spacious and warm, with wood furnishings and decorations that evoke a sense of Japanese charm. It reminded me of some YouTube videos showcasing beautiful Japanese restaurants.
I visited the restaurant after lunch hours, which was a pleasant surprise. It wasn’t too crowded, which was a plus for me.
Overall, I had a delightful meal and would definitely recommend...
Read moreSo glad they finally opened the new Green Leaf Sushi in Collingwood. We visited in December when they had only just opened 3 days earlier so they were still working out the kinks.
The vibe inside and the food is pretty similar to their other locations. Still working out the kinks though as they originally brought us out a karaage bowl instead of an unagi bowl (sounds kinda similar if you say it fast).
The Green Leaf-er combo ($25) comes with snapper tempura which is really good. It also includes their daily oshi (which happened to be salmon), as well as salmon and tuna sashimi.
As I mentioned, we ordered thebUnagi Ishiyaki ($21) but they gave us karaage don instead by mistake.
The Kabocha Korrokke ($7.5) had intensely creamy pumpkin encased in egg. I thought this was pretty good.
The agedashi tofu ($7.5) had a light batter.
Looking forward to visiting here more often on the future.
UPDATE - February 2025: Came back for a revisit and tried the Unagi Oshi ($18). A nice crisp garlic bite mixed with a creamy sauce. The Chicken Karaage ($9) was hot and had juicy meat covered on a thin crispy coating. Gomae ($6) and Beef Tataki ($14). The tataki was seared on the outside but pink inside. Liked that it was served on grilled onions. Also tried the House Roll ($14). Overall, better visit than our first time and food quality is good. The type of food that you want to...
