Ladies and gentlemen, let me regale you with a tale of a new establishment that has burst onto the Vancouver scene like a comet streaking through the night sky. Leopold's Tavern, a newly opened bar, has not just found its place in the city's culture; it's carving a niche that's nothing short of legendary.
Now, let me shine a spotlight on the true luminary of this establishment – Brittany, the magnificent manager. Picture this: the doors swung open to Leopold's, and I was greeted by the warmest, most welcoming smile I've ever encountered. Brittany, a true maestro of hospitality, exuded a charisma that would put the most enchanting sirens to shame. She didn't just manage this place; she orchestrated a symphony of service that left every patron feeling like royalty.
In a world where service can sometimes be an afterthought, Brittany was a breath of fresh air. Her grace and poise were matched only by her genuine care for every guest that crossed the threshold. She made you feel not just welcome, but cherished. It was as if she had a sixth sense for anticipating your every need.
But Leopold's Tavern isn't just about the unparalleled service; it's a realm of delights for the senses. The ambiance, an intoxicating blend of vintage charm and modern chic, invites you to step into a world where time stands still. The libations flow like liquid poetry, and the menu? Oh, the menu! A culinary journey that's nothing short of an epic saga.
From mouthwatering burgers that could rival the gods of gastronomy to tantalizing cocktails that could make Hemingway himself raise a glass in approval, Leopold's offers a banquet for the senses that's simply irresistible.
In conclusion, my fellow enthusiasts of fine establishments, Leopold's Tavern in Vancouver is not just a bar; it's a testament to the art of hospitality. Brittany, the enchantress of this establishment, ensures that every visit is an unforgettable experience. It's a place that's rewriting the script of what a bar can be, and it's doing so with an elegance and flair that's nothing short of theatrical. If you haven't experienced the magic of Leopold's yet, you're missing out on a chapter of Vancouver's culture that's nothing short of legendary. Raise your glasses and toast to Brittany and the entire team at...
Read moreI found this place on a hidden gems TikTok looking for somewhere to go for my birthday dinner. When we arrived we stood at the door not knowing if we were to seat ourself or wait, so we waited. Took about 7 mins for someone to finally come and greet us. It is very much like a bar that just serves food. So it was quite loud. We came for their “famous” poutine that’s plastered all over social media. We ordered garlic bombs, deep fried pickles, taco salad and the poutine. The deep fried pickles were absolutely amazing, the garlic bombs a close second and then taco salad was pretty good. The poutine was awful. They had various poutine options, we chose the traditional. There was barley any cheese curds maybe like 4 for the whole poutine. My friend had a bite first and she said it wasn’t great so then I tried it and she was right. It was terrible !! It had no flavour except salt. It was very very salty. Could barley taste the gravy even. The fries were also burnt. Just the whole thing was a mess. The drinks were also terrible. I tried the pineapple hibiscus. You couldn’t taste any hibiscus either and you could tell they just used a pineapple concentrated juice. I then tried the strawberry peach soda and so did my friend and even tho they were the same drink they tasted different. Hers tasted more peachy and better then mine. I barley had flavour in mine it tasted like watered down seltzer with a dash of peach purée. The bar tender came and we talked to him about the poutine and even he said it didn’t look right. He took it back and refunded us that. Shout out to him, sorry I didn’t get your name but thanks for helping us out and being so cool about it.
Our server was pretty cool, she was very busy serving everyone tho, as it was just her and the bartender. It happens so I understand.
The place was definitely not worth the social media hype. If I was to come back here it would just be for the deep fried pickles, garlic bombs, and taco salad most likely to go.
Maybe I might give them another try and see but it was definitely a over...
Read moreleopolds is a fun place to come with really imaginative and unique dishes that mash together classic comforting bar foods. plus there is a nice patio where you can eat with your dogs ! prices are a bit high and service was a bit rude and impatient imo, but most of the food was great quality and delicious!
the garlic bread bombs were SO soft and fluffy and like literal pillow balls — the garlic / cheese wasn’t overpowering, and dipping it in the ranch gave it a tangy kick.
the poutine of the week — the smoked brisket mac & cheese — was really well made. i was expecting it to just be a mish mash of random ingredients, but everything actually paired together really well. the saltiness of the fries (hint of cajun??) and gravy went perfectly with the sweet honey flavour of the bbq brisket and caramelized onions, and it was all tied together with this super creamy mac and cheese. there was actually a lot of mac and cheese and not a lot of fries, and the fries were honestly a bit too soggy under all the gravy and mac & cheese. i think their crispy waffle fries would’ve gone a lot better with the poutine, but unfortunately i couldn’t sub it for the poutine of the week. however, i did really enjoy the crispy onion tanglers that were sprinkled on top — it was a nice crunch contrasted against all the other ingredients. overall, the flavour was super heavy especially with all the brisket , gravy, and mac and cheese, but it was quite yummy.
the birria tacos were super disappointing though. there was barely any cheese and the exterior was more like a normal taco, rather than what you typically expect from a crispy birria shell. the meat was a bit dry, but the queso dip was unique and made up for the lack of flavour.
the fried cheesecake wasn’t really fried in my opinion?? the outside wasn’t crunchy, it was more like a soft shell. the inside was warm and REALLY FLUFFY, with an apple-y cinnamon taste. it wasn’t bad but it was nothing special, i don’t think i would...
