I visited the McDonalds near Main and Terminal around dinner time the other evening and I was extremely disappointed. The service was slow and frustrating, and my order was entirely wrong. I asked for a Carolina BBQ quarter pounder meal but was instead treated to a flattened cheeseburger. I discovered this only after driving all the way home. I'm not one to care typically, but this mistake was simply to egregious of an error and I was very hungry. Upon returning with the burger and bag in hand to have the mistake corrected I was gazed upon coldly. Only after great consideration and discussion with 2 others did the skeptic behind the counter relent and have the new burger dispatched. Despite a hive of staff buzzing in the kitchen It took forever to remake the burger. At this point I was starving and decided to eat the replacement there in the dinning room while it was still warm. When I sat down and opened the box, I was taken aback. The burger within, was a wreckage. The box was flooded in mayonnaise and mustard sauce.. crispy onions overflowed from under the bun... the burgers composition was in complete disarray its toppings scattered to the 4 corners. I was entirely unable to grasp the sandwich it was constructed so poorly. Dizzily, I looked up and stared around the dinning room. The floors were covered in spills and sticky with the remnants of food and drinks. Trash and debris from other diners scattered the tiles. The dining area was in disarray it looked like nothing had been cleaned in since the lunch rush. I saw half-eaten burgers and fries on some of the tables. I looked at my burger... cold and unappetizing. The diners around me, the few there were, looked uncomfortable, I could tell no one there was enjoying their meals just merely surviving.
I would not recommend...
Read moreWelcome to the only McDonalds in western Canada that makes it standard to only put half a slice of cheese on your burgers. Don’t expect management to care either, they just tell you to suck it up. I’d probably be able to overlook that if they didn’t consistently screw up my orders and act like you’re inconveniencing them by asking them to fix it. Make sure to ask for straws and napkins if you’re going through the drive-thru too. The only redeemable quality of this location is the free parking, however it doesn’t really help when you’re afraid your car is going to get broken into during your brief visit. I hope you like the smell of homeless people too, since there’s always an abundance of them at all times of the day; flailing, shouting, overdosing in the bathrooms and falling asleep at the tables. They’ve basically turned the west entrance into a homeless shelter, with tents and tarps draping off the side of the building and shopping carts littered throughout the lot, usually scratching and dinging your car. Got kids? The playplace is wonderful if you’re okay with the risk of your child finding a surprise needle in the ball pit. By this point, maybe you’re thinking, “At least the 24 hour service is convenient”. Sure, if you keep pepper spray handy or the drive-thru is actually open. This review may come across as sounding harsh, however I have been coming to this location for two years and have been at all times of the day, and it is consistently like this, with little to no action taken to address these issues. I truly do feel sorry for those employees, but the least they can do is be courteous- especially management. Needless to say, I would not recommend coming to this location unless you want to be severely disappointed and treated like a second...
Read moreI began visiting this location via Drive Thru during the pandemic and the staff is very rude and does not operate with care. Twice, they had us parked at a stall and made us wait 20 minutes - they forgot our order the first time. The second time they accused us of driving through without paying or ordering and just parking there.
The purpose of the Drive Thru is efficiency. I ended up having to take my meeting over the phone in the car while being interrupted by incompetent staff asking me why I'm here.
I went through the usual process - verbalize my Mobile Order # at the speaker, stop at the window, and proceeded to wait at a stall as instructed. I even received my email receipt.
What's worse is that in late Nov 2020, my bf and I were double charged because they said my usual payment was declined - which it wasn't. I asked if their systems were lagging today and the staff just told us to pay up. My bf paid full price for everything - I had ordered using Mobile Offers. Seconds later, I received a receipt for my order.
I have now been back and forth with Guest Relations who refuse to issue me a refund despite providing all the receipts, confirmations, and transaction statements. It's been well over a month and they take over a week to reply to each email and it's as if they never read it to begin with. All I want is a refund for the second charge, is that so much to ask?
Never coming here again. I'm beyond fed up...
