Not sure what to say which rarely happens. I mean the whole experience at this Tap & Barrel was just underwhelming, lacking and sad. Our server rushed us from the minute we sat down to the minute we got up and left. The Caesar I ordered was .....well...I don't even know how to explain it....it looked like it was in pain. The stingy desperate half a pepperoni with a peperoncini. It looked like a bartending student made it who was to fail his course. I also asked the server to bring me a straw, which she never did. The lager came completely flat and the food didn't make it any better. Today was the day I tried my worst Gyoza. A pre-made, frozen, processed mess. Not sure it was even real meat. It tasted very rubbery. The chicken strips with fries (see pic) looked like someone was preparing the dish and forgot to finish...you can count the fries with one glance and the chicken..well...the chicken I'm sure when it was alive had more integrity before it got turned into a wanna-be chicken strip.....my apologies to the chicken. The only thing that looked and tasted half decent was the fish and chips and even with that dish it was nothing to write home about. What a shame. A beautiful spot, great location, clearly enough staff and yet the service and food were a D-.

There are many tap and barrels in and around Vancouver. Each one has their own ambience and vibe with it. This one is none different, with great views of the creek. Upon arrival to tap and barrels the staff is very friendly as expected and I was whisked away to my table. The one thing that struck me was this cosy book area which they have upstairs. This provides a mix between worlds which is great to take in. The menu is extensive with multiple dishes spanning different areas. I ordered the ranchero bowl and it was delicious. The only thing I would have liked is a bit more sauce on the rice. But the portion is definitely more than enough. The wings are great, the pickle fries have a good crunch to them. However there was something I noticed, which was different to another tap and barrel. That was the Calabrian chilli and garlic prawns. This looked completely different to what I was served at a previous tap and barrel. The only thing I wished was better done was when the mains were served. It got to a point where 2 people had mains and then 7 others were waiting. This becomes very awkward, rather I would have liked it all to be served at once. Other than that I will definitely go back here again.

To begin, I’ll say our server, Georgia (?) from Kamloops is the only reason we didn’t give 1 star. She deserves 5 stars but the manager Sean was so condescending that we offer a 3 as a balance. For food, we ordered cauliflower wraps (average and not really a main dish), mushroom toast (excellent), a salad which was just a very cheap portion of the side salad / vegetables placed in a larger bowl and the tuna burger. Other than mushroom toast, nothing else would ever be ordered again. Now, on to Sean’s complete lack of customer service skill. I have ordered tuna burger many times at many restaurants. Yes, I know how it arrives. Yes, I eat sushi tuna on a weekly basis. The tuna burger arrived seared on the outside and cold/ frozen on the inside. The piece I bit was inedible. The server suggested they will remake it only to have Sean (manager) come over and ask what was wrong. After explaining to him, he said “ok, ok, well me and my sous chef looked at it. It’s alright. Maybe you don’t know ahi tuna. I don’t think you will be happy if we remake it. You should order something else” and handed me a menu. Not wanting to make an issue, I took the menu and for 20 mins waited for him to return. He never did but our server did. At that point, nothing more would be ordered because the parking would expire waiting for another dish. Being from South Surrey, we have been to the new location. The food including the tuna burger was excellent but the restaurant seems to have an issue with service. Unfortunately after this visit, won’t be visiting again. If you visit, order a drink and...

Went there with my husband last Saturday and was so disappointed. We got to the front door, and there was 4 hostess, and the one that was talking to a customer right before us chose to ignore us and started talking to the other and look down. The other one felt a little embarrassed and talked to us. We asked for a table inside and she immediately told us that we would have to leave in less than two hours because of a reservation in a bit of a rude way.

We sat and nobody came to help us for a good amount of time. We looked at the menu and couldn't find anything that we could actually wanted to eat. We found ourselves trying to find something that we could maybe enjoy, but the options were very bad. We got to a conclusion that it wasn't worth our hard earning money and ended up leaving before ordering something.

What really bothered us was not only the service, but Tap and Barrel used to be one of our favorite places to go (if not THE favorite), between the locations in Coal Harbour and Science World, but everything was so disappointing. The change they did at the menu is so bad. So many foods and drinks that we absolutely loved and were the reason for us to keep going there were simply removed. This is the worst part. It's really sad, it was our...
