Decided to try this place because it was close to work and so I ordered this online and went to pick it up.
Upon ordering online, it says they have daily soups and salads, but when I clicked to order, no availability to order. Im not sure if it was a glitch to the system, or maybe it was only available if you called in or walked in as it was a daily thing...
I ordered the 2 porchetta, 1 truffle parm dip and 1 haberno dip. And 2 pickles.
The sandwich was OK. I think the thickness of the bread didnt allow me to fully taste the pork itself. The pork was actually some what dry. I ended up having to remove the bread and eat the inside. The dips were nothing out of this world.
The pickles were surprisingly very juicy and big. I expected it to be cut up in thin pieces, but they came as a whole.
I think the individual boxes were neat as well, perfect for lunch gatherings during covid times. For the price, not worth it. I think after taxes it worked out to be $12-15. I think there are better worthy sandwich places that are less pricey. If you are not a huge carb fan, you may want to...
Read moreMeat & Bread was one of my must-have restaurants whenever I had the opportunity to come back. I use to go to the Cambie and Hastings location and even lined up for the famous Turducken sandwich during Christmas holidays.
I found myself walking by and was shocked to see a Meat & Bread on Broadway! I made a mental note and finally had the chance to pop in.
I ordered my favorite Porchetta sandwich. It was near closing so they cut what was left. The team member was very generous with the meat pile and when I asked for extra mustard, she laid it on.
The Porchetta was a little dry, but I suspect it was due to the end piece that I received. The pork rind was crunchy and why I love the sandwich so much. The extra mustard was an absolute requirement to cut through the fattiness. The bread is a little different and not as airy. Still, I love the Porchetta and will always eat at Meat & Bread for...
Read moreTL;DR: we’re from seattle and this place has sandwiches worth driving for.
my family comes up to vancouver for the weekends as a getaway from seattle. we base our trips around meals and playgrounds we google or read on popular social media outlets as we have small kids. having overexerting themselves early on in the day, we had to forego our plans and get a meal for ourselves (adults) and found ourselves at M & B. my husband got the porchetta and i had the buffalo chicken. both were excellent. i repeat: excellent.
bread- meat - veg - sauce (on both)
the bread was perfect. the simplicity of it all was perfect— not overly sauced, not heavy nor bland on every layer. i truly enjoyed every bite and albeit being full, i could’ve had another one. having had their sandwiches, i would drive up to vancouver from seattle on a day i need a good one. friendly staff, beautiful...
