I can't believe I don't have a review. But perhaps that's because this place has so many positive reviews that one more would be superfluous.
Mirchi's is a small operation, with only two staff members at most. The owner proprietor does the lion's share of the cooking. He is a really nice, gentle old man. Sometimes he has help from waitresses, and they are always helpful and friendly.
The food is very delicious, with a pretty good sized selection of Indo Pakistani dishes. I love the na'an. The portions are just right, not too big that you are uncomfortable afterwards, but still satisfying. There are both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Personally, I like the lamb vindaloo or the lamb korma.
I'm always pleased when I come in and they have either Pakistani satellite television or movies. It seems like they're shows are pretty compelling.
On the wall are pictures of patrons from years ago and some famous Pakistanis.
The bathroom is pretty good. There's only one, but it is a good fit with the amount of seating.

Read moreI recently stumbled upon some reviews mentioning that people found the food a bit bland and had concerns about the restaurant's atmosphere and cleanliness. I felt compelled to share a different perspective. Mirchi, a genuine family restaurant, is personally overseen by the remarkable owner, Joseph, who's in his 80, and the place has been thriving for close to 20 years!
Joseph pours his heart into Mirchi, preparing each meal fresh daily, crafting sauces from fresh tomatoes, and even making the naan from scratch. The dedication and authenticity shine through in every bite. While the building and interior have that charming, antique vibe, you'll find the tables, glassware, and plates are always in top-notch condition – super clean and tidy.
Walking into Mirchi isn't like entering just any restaurant, it feels more like coming home. Joseph's love and commitment to the place make it stand out, creating an atmosphere that goes beyond the typical dining experience. It's not just a restaurant; it's a cozy spot where you can savor the rich history and dedication...
Read moreOrdered take out. Chicken pikora, Beef curry and tandori chicken. After ordering over the phone I read some of these reviews and worried whether or not the negative ones were accurate. Unfortunately they were. For 40$ I got 6 cubed pieces of chicken each the size of what you would expect on a skewer, a beef curry so watered down there was no flavor and was primarily oil with 3 pieces of beef....That's right...3. I could not belive it, I called right away to explain that either there was a mistake or felt I had been ripped off. The curry was not edible nor worthy of being served to a customer, 3 pieces of beef soaked in flavoured oil. Instead of understanding my concern the lady on the phone argued saying that that was the correct portion size. I will NEVER order food here again and would never recommend. 7 minutes away drive would be Gingerie or Tandori Kona just over the bridge. Both great food and worthy of a 40$ meal for two. I have lived in Vancouver my whole life and this is by far the worst Indian food I...
