Piast Bakery & Deli Ltd — Restaurant in Vancouver

I have been here about 10 times,other experiences were bad I always hoped it would change with different clerks. I walk in there the other day and some creepy guy that works behind the counter was staring at me and watching me like a hawk peering at me through the shelves so weird ,he thought I walked away and came peering again with his head this time peering around a display case and I caught him in the act being a suspicious Simon.and I said to him : hi weirdo are you scared creepster and he didn't say anything he quickly pretended to pick something up off the floor. Then went behind the counter. I don't know what kind of oddball they have working there but he was Rude. and they have jam at the cashier that's one year old and still selling it .the date was January 1st 2023 I had 100$ bucks to spend for Christmas I was totally turned off and left only buying 5 dollar biscuits.they are snobs and rude don't shop here . This store is absolutely a hidden gem in Van!!! I can’t believe I didn’t know this place before. The girl with blonde hair was extremely friendly to us! The breads 🥐🍞🥯that she gave us had jam in them and one of them even had real berries (a lot)in it😱Never know this kinda amazing bread in my entire life!! The most important is: all of them were extremely good! And the cakes we bought were surprisingly tasty as well! Also, the sausages we bought are from Poland, she explained to us very patiently, they were so delicious!! 😋

I’ve been back and haven’t had this experience: back to the usual great service!

My recent experience was awful: my baba just passed and so I came here to get some essentials to make Ukrainian food to cope. the lady in the store was extremely rude to me for no apparent reason. I would ask for something and she would laugh at my pronunciation or tell me I didn’t know what someone actually was. She kept glaring at me if I was done as if I was the worst person in the world! Usually this isn’t the case here! My past experiences have been so delightful and the food is really great. I will be back, but I hope this worker is no longer there.
