I've been ordering here once or twice a month for a while now. The pho is alright but it is a bit pricy considering the meat portions are not too brag-worthy and it seems they just use a lot of noodles to compensate. That said, the broth is tasty. Usually so are their chicken salad rolls. Of course none of this merits merely one star. However, I do take my health pretty seriously, and when i ordered my usual tonight the soup was as anticipated, but the chicken salad rolls had raw, pink chicken in them. Unfortunately I was not in a well lit area of my home when I began to eat them, and I ended up eating a little over half of the dish before realizing that the chicken was unsafe to eat. I'm currently waiting to see whether or not I get violently ill. I do understand that a bit of pink doesn't guarantee illness, so I'll update if I do. Not that it really matters considering the chicken is more pink-red than is...
Read moreVisited this location , first time today. I like Vietnamese food , I eat 4 times in a week. I usually order from the location that is in Olympic village and 2nd on Broadway and Cambie. This location was close to my work, so I thought let’s try out food here. The taste was good, but was not like the typically Vietnamese food I had before. I always ordered chicken curry with rice, that my favourite. Price is same as other restaurants too but quantity was less than what other all restaurants offer. I had to ordered again from Uber eats app as it was not filling. I tried many different restaurant with same order but this restaurant has the less portion to offer you than others. May be it’s the management or what I have no idea. But according to my experience, comparing with other Vietnamese restaurants, than restaurants is like 50/50 kind. No complaints from staff , rest...
Read moreAs a Vegetarian, it can be difficult to find a solid bowl of Pho. Far too often the vegetarian option is a really watery gross salt & vegetable broth concotion. However, at this venue formerly known as Gold Train Express, the vegetarian pho is nothing of the sort. Instead the broth is carefully and clearly well thought out. Very flavourful, to the point where you want to chug the whole bowl.
The icing on the cake of this place is their beverage selection. They have plenty of authentic Vietnamese drinks such as salty plum soda, salty lime soda, and avocado milk shakes. That was easily one of the best shakes I have had, and it did very well with the pho.
The best part of this place is the pricing. $9 for a large bowl of pho, and drinks between 3 and 5 bucks. East side prices in a west side location so close to...
