Rollzzy is only place I know of in Vancouver that specializes in kathi rolls. Some places have similar items but nothing exactly like this. There's tons of vegetarian choices and most of the vegetarian rolls can be veganized, but you have to specify that you want vegan otherwise you'll get mayo. I’ve tried the haryali kebab and soya chaap rolls so far. The rolls are very flavourful and the parathas are fresh and soft, flaky but not greasy. I ask for medium spice and it’s a safe middle-of-the-road option for those who like spice but don't want their mouth tingling when they're finished. The rolls are thin but long, so they’re fairly hefty (if you have a really big appetite, you might want a side to be full, but I’m totally satisfied with just the roll). The veg rolls are all $11 and the meat rolls are $12 which is a good value. Rolls are made to order, and I keep beating the lunch rush so I never have to wait too long, but if you see lots of people inside already, be prepared to wait a while. I tried their masala chai on my first visit, which was a little on the mild side but did have the essence of real Indian-style chai. It's brewed unsweetened so you can add sugar to your taste, served piping hot. The sweet lassi is, as you might expect, very sweet. It’s also made to order and that freshness is nice. Haven’t tried the mango lassi yet but am looking forward to it. They accept personal cups for drinks but the problem is they keep forgetting that I’ve given them a cup and pouring my drink into a disposable cup and then having to transfer it to mine. The shop space on Robson is very small and mostly designed for takeout. There are three stools set up at a counter by the window if you need to eat in. The atmosphere is purely utilitarian but that’s fine for a place like this. The staff has been super nice...
Read moreI stopped in for a quick bite while on a break working around the corner at the Orpheum. My impression was it is a family run place. The menu looked enticing and the prices reasonable. I opted for a Chilli Paneer Wrap to eat inside at the short counter in the front window. The service was very friendly. They make everything to order it’s not premade and sitting around. This might slow things down when dealing with a rush of orders but it’s worth it to have it made fresh and handed to you piping hot. It wasn’t busy when I went in the first time so my wrap came out pretty quickly. I could see them preparing the paratha and it was nice and flaky and warm. The filling was tasty, however the red sauce was just a little more salty than I would like, not enough to spoil it though. I asked for some extra green sauce and they happily obliged. For the price I felt it was a generous size and was quite filling, just what I needed on my short break to get me through the rest of the afternoon. I will definitely try other items should I be downtown and hungry. Especially if you’re just looking for a tasty bite to eat in a brief window of time, this joint is well worth checking out. Not much ambiance, it’s just a very small place, mainly meant for takeaway but it seemed clean and tidy. On a busy downtown street there is street parking, but plug the meter, they are aggressively patrolled and check the hours as parking is prohibited certain hours. I don’t believe they have any public facilities at this place. Open 24 hours, which is amazing!
edit: I went in again a couple times last week and had the Butter Paneer Roll, and have to say it was utterly delicious, and as previously, filled generously with paneer and savoury flavourful sauce. Definitely...
Read moreRollzzy on Robson Street is one of the best spots downtown for Indian street food, especially if you’re craving something fast, filling, and open late. Their specialty is kathi rolls — warm parathas wrapped around juicy, well-seasoned fillings like chicken tikka, butter chicken, paneer, or soya chaap. Every roll is made fresh, and you can taste the difference. The paratha is flaky, the chutneys are tangy and spicy, and the portions are generous enough to make a full meal.
What makes Rollzzy stand out is the variety. Most Indian fast food places are limited in vegetarian options, but here almost every roll has a veg or vegan alternative — from paneer to aloo masala to soya chaap. They also let you choose your spice level, so whether you want mild or fiery, they deliver. My personal favorites are the Chicken Tikka Roll (smoky and rich) and the Paneer Tikka Roll (perfect for vegetarians). The Peri Peri Fries are also worth trying — crispy with just the right spice kick.
The restaurant itself is small and casual, more grab-and-go than sit-down, though there are a few seats if you want to eat inside. Prices are fair considering the size and freshness, usually around $12–15 for a roll. Service is friendly, though during peak hours it can take a little longer since everything is cooked fresh. Sometimes items run out late at night, but that’s a sign of high demand.
Overall, Rollzzy is a reliable, flavorful, and affordable spot that brings real Indian street food energy to downtown Vancouver. Perfect for a quick lunch, a late-night bite, or a change from the usual burgers and pizza. Not fancy, but definitely tasty — and a place I’d...
