Sing Sing Commercial — Restaurant in Vancouver

I visited this restaurant for the first time and had pho yesterday , but unfortunately, I ended up feeling extremely unwell. Almost immediately after eating, I experienced chest pain, cheek aches, and a heavy body feeling that lasted into the next day. I wasn’t the only one in my group who experienced these symptoms, which makes me believe something was off with the food.

My friend called the restaurant within an hour of eating to report the issue, and the staff promised to have a manager follow up. The next day, when no one called, I reached out myself and spoke with the manager. He claimed he hadn’t heard anything about the situation yet, but after a few minutes, I received a call back. The person on the line was more focused on questioning if I might be allergic to MSG, even though I clearly explained that I have no known allergies and had no issues eating at other places. It felt like they were more interested in dismissing my concerns rather than actually investigating the problem.

I really didn’t appreciate the dismissive attitude and constant repetition about MSG. I just wanted to understand what could have caused such a strong reaction, especially since multiple people were affected. I’m frustrated that my friend’s initial call wasn’t taken seriously, and now I’m left wondering if the restaurant is even concerned about possible food safety issues. If this was something more serious, their lack of response could have had much worse consequences. I won’t be returning, and I wouldn’t recommend...

To preface, I had never been to either of the Sing Sing locations prior to this so out of caution I had made our dinner reservations well in advance, even though it was only for a party of three. In the reservation I made a note that it was for my friend’s birthday. I was not expecting any freebies, just hoping for a little extra care in our service.

To my surprise, when we arrived at the restaurant it was essentially empty. However, we were left standing by the sign asking guests to wait to be seated for what felt like an eternity, completely ignored by staff, despite only two other tables inside being occupied and two employees standing nearby chatting.

When someone finally came over, I mentioned the reservation hoping that they would check and see that tonight was a special occasion. Anyhow, that was not the case, they did not bother to ask for a name or acknowledge it. We were then curtly led to an unreserved table at the back, which should have indicated how little attention we should expect later on.

The rest of the evening was no better. The food and atmosphere was mediocre at best and the service was some of the worst I have experienced in a long time. Not once did anyone check in on us.
