Skip The Dishes might be the only way to get service here. We’ve ordered many time and always enjoyed their food.
However I thought since I’m in the area around lunch time maybe I’ll go in and order instead of Skip taking from their profits and actually tip them rather than a driver.
There was a single other person in the restaurant who was already eating when I arrived - I took a seat “anywhere” as instructed, read the menu and made my selection. Like in most venues I closed the menu to indicate that I was ready. 15 minutes later I walked out and went somewhere else as I’ve made eye contact with both employees who are giggling and chatting to eachother, have served another walk in while I’ve been waiting and have gone back to leaning on the counter.
I was not acknowledged again since arriving in the 20 minutes I was there with a single other diner in the restaurant who already had food, and two employees clearly not doing anything and who had helped a walk in with a take away.
We have eaten here one other time where we were served at our table. So if this has become an “order at counter” type venue - it does not say so on the menu or at the counter and nobody told me so in the 20 minutes I was there.
I’ve worked in the service industry and have compassion for people in these jobs, I usually lend a great deal of benefit of the doubt for many things. But this is my first time posting a terrible review. And I cannot think of a single good reason for what...

Quality Taiwanese food and REAL bubble tea, (Nostalgic for me, lived 8 years in Taiwan)
Both did and bubble tea menus are HUGE.
Teas can have EVERY type of thingy that people put in those drinks, real fruit chunks, tapioca balls, cubed stuff, (even the seeds from real passion fruit for example) cubed jelly stuff and all the crap bubble tea fans like. More variety than can be tried by one person in several months. Not a gimmicky "bubble tea and dessert on-top" spot. Almost every other tea place within a 2 km radius can't compare, in any way shape or form.
Taiwanese food is underrated or unknown. The style is like Chinese food but less oily, less saucy, less over-powered by spices.
Ingredients have more natural flavor hit you and the balance between ingredients is the key, Chinese but with a Japanese influence.
Once you have Taiwanese, it's hard to eat Chinese and wish it was more like the Taiwanese style. 50 years of Japanese rule left a mark on the island in many ways, especially in the refinement of the food. I love Chinese food, but it is overbearing...
Read moreThe food was tasty, but the portion size isn't very large (we did take out). In total with tax, all 3 items cost $52.97. The best value was the Thai Style Fried Rice with Chicken, good flavour and the chicken pieces were tender. We found the Seafood Fried Udon to be a bit too saucy. The Cumin Fried Noodle with Lamb also had a nice flavour, but there weren't too many lamb pieces to be found amongst the cabbage and onions. The service was friendly. We went on a Tuesday and it wasn't busy around 6 pm, only 1 table was occupied.
We were a bit concerned because of some of the reviews and Google rating, but had no issues with the taste of the food itself. I'd be interested in returning to try more of their extensive food menu, but there are other options in the area (along Kingsway) with bigger portions for the price. Service at the counter...
