Extremely disappointed with my experience at Ta Bom. We waited over 10 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us to take our order. No eye contact, no check-ins. The servers were completely inattentive throughout the entire meal, even when we were clearly trying to pay and leave.
We ordered the spicy chicken, which came with only a very thin layer of steamed egg and corn with no rice included and all of this for $20 per person. The portion was underwhelming, and cheese wasn’t even included despite the photos showing it on the side of the dish apparently, you have to pay extra for cheese. Very misleading and overpriced.
My cold noodles were a mess. They were all clumped together into one hard chunk, like they hadn’t even been properly separated or cooked. On top of that, there were eggshells inside, which is just unacceptable and nasty.
To make things worse, a server spilled water on a nearby table and it splashed onto my legs. No apology or even acknowledgement.
We also received rice when the chicken wasn’t even cooked yet, so by the time the chicken was ready, the rice was already cold.
The meat had a bit of an old smell, and even had bones in it. Not worth the price at all. The dish was loaded with veggies, which felt like a way to cut costs more than anything.
Side dishes were laughable. TWO pieces of potato pieces, mid kimchi, seaweed, and bean sprouts. No refills offered… maybe that costs extra too.
When it came time to pay, I was visibly annoyed and had to wave someone down after 15 minutes of waiting. Other tables were being actively checked on and had their food flipped for them, but we were barely acknowledged. Even at checkout, the server could tell I was upset and didn’t bother to ask if everything was okay.
Overall, overhyped and overpriced. The food didn’t taste nearly as special as the reviews made it seem. I won’t be returning and please work on having some...

Downgrading to 2 stars due to the some of the worst restaurant service I've ever gotten.
Took 20 mins to get any service after being seated. Also the young female waitress without glasses on Aug 18 was very rude. Due to no one coming to take our orders I eventually had to wave a server down and she looked very inconvenienced by us asking for service. she saw me, sneered at us and nodded her head and then walked right past us to do something else and then came back to us. At that point we just felt really unwelcome and awkward.
When ordering our meal they got 1 order (kimchi jiggae) wrong and had to send it back. After an hour goes by, still no kimchi jiggae that I ordered. Had to ask the waitress (that forgot about it) and finally after over an hour it arrives, no apology or anything. The rice that came with the incorrect order was cold by that time (no replacement for that) either.
Also, after they were cooking our meat on our BBQ, the same waitress looked very annoyed when I asked her if could order one more beer. She would just sneer and roll her eyes like we were bothering her. The other 2 servers were ok, but neither of them apologized or gave any explanation of why it took over an hour to get an incorrect order right. At the end when we were settling up the bill we explained that we were not happy with the service and it turns out the guy who was taking our payment was the manager and asked my wife if we were from here before even apologizing. Why should it matter where we are from? Were they hoping us to be more passive or a different response based on where we were from?
Unfortunately it looks like their restaurant service really went downhill. Really didn't feel welcomed and will no be returning here.
Previous review (4 stars): Amazing food, amazing service. ...
Read moreI can’t believe how much the quality of this restaurant has gone downhill in just a year. We were really looking forward to dining here again, but everything about our experience left us disappointed and confused.
First, the portion sizes were shockingly small—just one dish for three people, barely enough for two bites each. Although they offer free refills, we had to wait over 10 minutes just to get one. The seafood pancake was burnt and bitter, and the soup looked sad and unappetizing, with barely two spoonfuls of meat in it. Even the rice was dry and felt like it had been sitting out too long.
The worst part was how our feedback was handled. We shared our concerns with the server, who walked around for 10 minutes before coming back to tell us there was nothing they could do—no offer to remake the food, no solution at all. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told there wasn’t one available. Instead, they offered us a small discount—less than $10 off—and still expected us to pay and take the food to go. The server even said we were free to leave a review, which made it clear he didn’t care about customer satisfaction at all.
We only ate one dish and left the rest untouched. On top of that, it took forever to get our food in the first place, and even longer to receive any kind of help. It’s frustrating to know that someone more experienced might’ve handled the situation better, but we never got that chance.
We came for a good meal and a relaxing time, but left completely disappointed. We will never return, and I wouldn’t recommend this...
