The King Caesar Review is here! I am here to rate all the Caesar salads world wide … starting at my home in Vancouver. These rating will be heavily based on the Caesar salad it’s self, and not the other food I ordered. I have been eating Caesar salad for the past 20 years and thought it’s about time I get serious about these leafy greens covered in cream sauce. I hope your as excited as I am. Lennox Pub - Now known as The Ox Pub? - A Granville Irish Pub favourite Well.. well.. its been a while since King Caesar has posted a review but do not worry.. he is back to gossip about these creamy greens. The Lennox pub is that perfect fix for a low lit, carpeted Irish pub vibe, yes even the staff are Irish. Let’s talk Caesar: Dressing: mayo based, not strong anchovy or garlic taste, a very basic Caesar dressing which is not a bad thing for the lower threshold strength of tastebuds. Great amount though Lettuce: where they lost points… wilted romaine.. some large long stems… Croutons: homemade! Points! Cheese: very little, packaged, placed on top Bacon: packaged … that is all Overall I came here for the low lit Irish pub vibes and the hazy IPA widowmaker. Typically Irish pubs kill a caesar but this one was a little below average. I will say, it came extremely quick and the staff were attentive. The chicken was grilled (which I prefer crispy - thats a personal preference and the menu did not lie), chicken was tossed in the salad instead of placed on top? Maybe I’m picky? Very crispy garlicky croutons which king loves, bacon like in previous reviews mentioned - not keen on BUT - packaged. Not the best Caesar salad however the Irish vibe is always a needed fix, right downtown on the Granville strip, they serve widowmaker from Squamish, BC which is a beautiful IPA, and is rare to find. Ill probs be back, Lennox… but not for the Caesar…

This place has quite a chill ambiance, the servers are great, hospitality and food are even more amazing! I had the "BBQ Salmon" which was just fantastic! The quinoa, mango, green beans, rice, asparagus which were cooked just right but not soft or mushy! Which is how it's suppose to be. The chef definitely knows what she or he are doing! (I think the girl who brought it and served it to me was the chef! Which I think is a nice finesse touch) BBQ salmon which had a nicely light sear all over was very well done, not under or over cooked, it was full of flavour and could and will definitely go here again! It was filling, but not heavy, the flavours of the dish was complex, fresh, and vibrant. The only thing I would have to say was that the asparagus was a tiny bit limp, they had wonderful flavour and texture. Overall Rating for the BBQ Salmon @ The Lennox Pub 9/10 Food Presentation 10/10 Flavour 10/10 Textures 9/10 Vibrance 9/10 Price point 10/10 I also had the Whistler Whiskey Ale which I must say is now my top favourite beer! It had a very vibrant refreshing flavour, the body was medium/full, the colour is quite beautiful and it really went just fabulous with this particular dish. It was over powering or to much of a contrast, but just enough to enjoy both worlds. This choice of beer does clean off your palette so that you can enjoy another fantastic mouthful of your absolutely delicious mouth watering dish.

Fun place, friendly service, comfortable atmosphere. We stopped in for the Irish coffee because of the "one of the best in Vancouver" sign out front. It was very good, and seemed to be similar to the ones I had at The Buena Vista in San Francisco, which is regarded as the origin of Irish Coffee on this continent. The waitress confirmed that, saying that the owner styled them after a place in San Francisco (she didn't know exactly). Like I said, the Irish coffee was very good, but could have used more whiskey, and the cinnamon in the cream was a little odd. For food, we shared an order of spinach artichoke dip, which was really good. Fresh, house-made, and tasty. No complaints here at all. When I'm in Vancouver again, I'll definitely stop back at The Lennox Pub.

Food was in good portion and very tasty. We ordered scampi and chips (happy hour $11), the shrimp was scalding hot and crisp, fresh out of the fryer, and the sauce was perfectly in pairing. The hummus and pita were also delicious. Hummus had a strong garlic note which I loved, very fresh taste, I spooned the whole bowl clean afterwards. If I was a decade younger I would lick the bowl haha. The pita was very fluffy and soft, perfect for the hummus. Unfortunately ate the food too quickly before taking a photo.

We had a couple of Guinness and an Edna’s Paloma mocktail. The Guinness was poured adequately, with the appropriate amount of head. The mocktail is from a can, with ice and lime slice on the side.

The lower level can be quite loud, there’s an upper floor area near the washrooms that would be more quiet. The washrooms were adequately clean on the surface, although still had an...
