Tokyo Joe's Sushi in Vancouver — Restaurant in Vancouver

I'm not sure if they changed their menu during covid but I came in wanting a yaki soba, which according to their website they had on the menu, however, they said they don't have it. I tried their California roll, dynamite roll, and chicken teriyaki bowl and really it was all just ok. I found it was a bit over-priced for what you get, the serving size of the chicken teriyaki was a little small for me. As far as the rolls, they get a big plus for doing the dynamite roll properly (with prawn tempura, crab, and yam tempura), however it just didn't have much taste compared to other sushi places I've been to. I am not sure if this is a Franchise or not. They also have two stores in Richmond (while one now, the other became a Ramen place under the same owner). This is a good sushi place. They will do rice substitutions and have a nice number of custom rolls. They have the basic additional items as well like agedashi tofu, wakame and chicken terriyaki etc. Lunch is very busy, but dinner is usually pretty quiet. Paid parking is available. This place is top notch. First off at a time that I have become fearful of fish due to never knowing the quality now a days, I always feel safe going here. The fish is always fresh and delicious. Second the prices are incredibly reasonable at a time where inflation makes prices sky high Tokyo Joes makes it that their high quality food is also affordable. Third the staff are so kind.
