Oh my God, ok ... This was the first time I have ever been in this establishment. I wanna say, this was the BEST beef broth soup I have ever tasted. They really hit their beef broth stock out of the park. Pork pot stickers were also delicious. While the quality of the food is above par, the wait time to get in to sit and enjoy the meal was quite lengthy. We waited 25 mins for a table ... But worth waiting for. Because it is so busy, all of the time, parking in the maybe 10 spots they have available can be quite challenging to say the least.
While the food tasted great, the parking was an issue, as was the wait time to get a table. Another issue I have is, the place is entirely in Chinese. The menu was a little difficult to navigate. It bothers me that this place is doing business, in Canada, but doesn't not give equal signage on their business front that even says the name of the business, it's all Chinese. The Menu lacks proper or poor English descriptions of what the items are, and the first server wasn't able to take out order because she didn't understand English at all. Being in this country, you would think a business would want to cater to English speaking clientele, but this place ... falls behind on that department. Will I go back? Maybe. The beef broth soup really was good. But not good enough for me to return if I can't read or understand what exactly I'm ordering.
This is Canada afterall. Not...
Read moreIt's an unassuming place that's usually filled with a lot of cars. I know we ordered from this place once when I was sick and my partner loved it.
But going here during the weekend and trying their meals felt very nice. The deep fried tofu and the sauce was absolutely amazing. The service was awesome too cause when we wanted tea refills we would get it promptly. While there was a wait for some of our food to arrive it wasn't a long wait.
For the price of the food, it was good. You'll get full and there's an assortment of food enough to cater to everyone's tastes like a few vegan dishes and soups and rice plus some dumplings.
The only thing I wish they would improve is the signs on the menu. I've gone to places where they would list down stuff like lactose free, peanut free, soy free, gluten free, or for vegetarians etc. But since the lady taking our order was approachable and explained the options then it wasn't that big of a problem.
It's cash/debit only but we read the reviews prior so we weren't surprised at all when we visited. Might come back again for their deep fried tofu and sauce. I wonder how they can make the sauce taste so tasty. It's one of the best I've tried. Sad I forgot to take...
Read moreOne of the best beef noodle restaurants in Vancouver. My friend who moved overseas raves about Wang's and I was excited to go with her when she was back.
I tried the small beef brisket noodle with thick noodles, and my friend had the spicy version. Small was the perfect size for us. I'm not sure if the noodles are made fresh in house, but they had great texture and good amount of chewiness. The broth tasted clean and there was good depth to the flavour that was very soul warming. Good quality beef and I like that there was a good amount of meat per brisket - I've been to other restaurants where it is primarily fat or cartilage, and very little meat. The only thing I wish they included was some type of vegetable like bok choy. But overall the meal was delicious.
Looking forward to trying the other noodle soups on the menu and the popcorn chicken.
