Read moreMy family has been going to this restaurant for years. I think it has gone through a couple of management changes over the years. And I'm fairly certain that there is new management there now. Sadly, it's just not the same. A couple of weeks ago, my family drove to this restaurant from our place about 25 mins away. It was a Sunday and we expected them to be open. When we got there, the sign says "back in 30 mins". Ok, that's fine. Then about 40 mins passes. No one has come in. The lights were never turned on. No one was answering the phone. Eventually we just left. I felt bad for others who were also waiting. Not sure how long they waited. I called the next day and all I got was "sorry", no other explanation. That's fine. Then we tried going there again tonight. I called ahead to make sure they were open. A nice lady answers and confirms that they are open. I asked how long is the wait since it's mother's day, she doesn't answer and asks me what time we plan on coming. I say around 745, and she says "that's fine". We get there, there is about 3 families ahead of us. Only one of the table was occupied, and all the tables still had food on them. You can also see the backed up to-go orders on the counter. This poor single waitress seemed to be handling everything on her own. I felt terrible for her situation. We just left. We will go back eventually. I just really hope that this management invests in...
Read moreI'm Thai/Lao and the food doesn't taste quite right. I grew up eating this type of food.
Ordered wings, yellow curry, beef basil stir fry, a bowl of rice and a side of sticky rice (meals do not come with rice so you have to buy them separately...).
Wings were dry but the seasoning was good. Curry was okay just a bit flat in flavour... and the beef basil stir fry, I hate to write this on a review but when I cook this at home I enjoy it more; beef seemed dry/overcooked and the dish was too salty.
And the fact that you need to buy your own rice ($3) is just.. I hate when restaurants make you pay for it when the dish obviously requires it. I don't know any asian that will eat curry or stir fry without rice. Also, my side of sticky rice was $6... I know it takes a long time to make but $6, wow...
I usually don't like to write reviews (especially negative ones) but I just really wanted a good experience and my wife loves Thai/Lao food and they're...
