Sushi King House — Restaurant in Vancouver

Stay away from here! This place is terrible. Went for Lunch here today had the 7.95$ special. Salmon tempura roll Spicy salmon roll California roll With a miso soup Sounds good right? Wrong.... First thing that set off alarm bells was I ordered as soon as I sat down and my meal was instantly brought to me who knows how long it sat behind the counter? I decided I was too hungry to leave. Tried the spicy salmon first fish was way past bad I had to spit it out. California roll was the worst I've had in my life. Salmon tempura roll was fully cooked through. I politely asked the waitress what should I do? I can't eat it she went to talk to the manager behind counter. The manager started screaming at the waitress for two whole minutes in front of he other 10 guests in the restaurant. Very unprofessional. Waitress came back told me I would have to pay regardless. The entire time she stared me down with a very upset look on her face as if it was my fault somehow. I paid but protested, "this is the first time I've ever had to pay for a meal that was basically rotten in my life." BOTTOM LINE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE THESE PEOPLE DO NOT DESERVE YOUR BUSINESS! This restaurant has, by far, the worst service I have ever received, in my LIFE. I'm not sure how it has the rating it has but I was berated for asking about the lunch specials. The middle aged Asian lady taking my order rolled her eyes at me, sighed, and when asked about the lunch special ASKED me to physically get up and go read the board outside in the rudest tone. I had read the lunch special but just had a question about it, which she was unable to understand or answer, as she was busy getting exasperated at us. We just ended up ordering something else...

We felt so humiliated that we ended up cancelling our order and walking out to avoid interacting with the server further. This was our second time going here, the first time we went, the server was also rude but not outwardly hostile, and the food was whatever. This just happens to be the closest Sushi place to us, but I wouldn't mind walking 30 min the other way to avoid this one.

I would highly recommend going to this place so you can see what the absolute WORST in customer service looks like, and then everywhere else you go will comparitively seem like the best...

For food quality, this place is good, although not outstanding, but the prices are fine..

The owner / manager maybe ?/ possible owner? is extremely gruff and comes across very stressed and as if she hates her job. The approach is rude, really, and when we spoke to her about it, she became very defensive. We could tell that she did not understand our points and was very closed off to our comments. Bad customer service from her unlike the two other younger people who sometimes serve there.

Also, one time, she was extra loud with co-workers in the back, plus they put on the television ! OMG! When I politely asked her if they could be a bit quieter, her expression looked as if I was asking her to gauge out her eyes. She looked quite upset and pouty after that. This lady NEVER smiles ! She makes customers uncomfortable.

In addition, she replied with a grunt "no" when I asked for Ramen noodles instead of Udon noodles for the special - really? Not even that much flexibility at this place? I heard her doing the same with another customer who actually had...
