Discovering Zab Zaab Thai Cuisine in Yaletown Vancouver was a true delight. Without a reservation, we were warmly seated on the patio, embracing the tranquil evening atmosphere. Seeking an early dinner, we avoided the crowds and indulged in authentic Thai flavors. The ambiance was effortlessly casual yet cozy, setting the tone for a memorable meal. Savoring Tom Yum soup, grilled pork cheek, and Pad See Ew (fresh rice noodle stir fried with egg, meat, broccoli and gai lan) and each dish exceeded expectations, particularly the succulent pork cheek, rivaling our Thai culinary experiences. It was extraordinarily delish that we both gave it a 11 thumbs 👍😂 The “wok flavour” * in the Pad See Ew added an unmistakable depth, transporting us to the heart of Thailand.
Generous portions and steaming hot rice served in a charming bamboo container left us thoroughly satisfied, earning Zab Zaab a top-three spot in our Vancouver dining experiences.
Zab Zaab exceeded our expectations with an exquisite dinner and exceptional mango mojito mocktails. It earned a spot among our top three Vancouver dining experiences. The restaurant's authentic Thai cuisine and attentive staff make it highly recommended. We anticipate our next visit to sample their curry and desserts. 😋😋
Wok flavour gives food, particularly a stir-fry, concentrated flavour and an infusion of smoky goodness. It comes from tossing ingredients in a wok over high heat so that they char, then mingle in the hot air, steam and smoke that are created and it's a process only...
Read moreSuperb Thai place in Yaletown - David and Hamilton streets. Despite no reservations, we were welcomed and seated at a location of our choice. Service was very friendly and attentive. We ordered Chicken Satay and Fried Tofu as appetizers and Salmon Paenang, Stir Fried Street Style Pork, Chicken Pad Thai, and Tofu Green Curry as entrees. Drinks consisted of Fresh Lemon Soda, Lager and Lichitini. Drinks were a bit delayed but when served, tasted excellent. Clyde appetizers too were tasty, with thr Satay so tender and flavorful. Entrees were each works of culinary art, although the Green Curry was a tad too sweet. Rice was charged extra, rather steep charge as well per serving - a bit of a downer as most Thai places serve it as a natural accompaniment at no additional charge. Overall though the dinner was memorable - food had the exquisite flavor for which Thai cuisine is so renowned. Although we asked for “hot” spice level, our tongues were not burned off - we even requested chopped fresh red Chilis in the side to amp up the heat. Excellent restaurant, great service - we were set back CAD 200 (including taxes and a generous tip) for 4 persons. Well...
Read moreWe were in town visiting with our baby and we were looking for a good but inexpensive dinner. We saw the high reviews of this place and it was close-by so we decided to try it out. And we were not disappointed.
The inside is classy, service swift and polite, and most importantly the food is amazingly delicious. We started with the chicken wonton (good portions for the price though I wished they were cheese wontons as I prefer them better) and then shared the beef pad sew (saucy and so tasty if a little on the salty side), the chicken green curry (fantastic), with a side of jasmine rice (make sure to go for the coconut rice—it’s subtle but so delicious). We ended off with mango sticky rice to share which was nice and sweet but given mangoes are off season it was a little on the sour side.
All in all, we left fully satisfied and talking fondly about the food on our walk back to our hotel with the rich flavours still dancing on our lips.
NOTE: if you have a baby keep in mind they surprisingly did not have any high chairs. We ended up keeping our baby in his stroller where he...
