To be say the least, my first experience at Balzac's was satisfactory compared to prior experiences at locations in Toronto. Although the atmosphere is very inviting, the staff do not conform with said intentions; whereas Starbucks customer service was always highly notable. The predominant concern is the hours of operation. Kleinburg can't be compared to the conditions of Toronto. I understand the hours at locations in the downtown area are limited due to lack of customers, however, the "happening" hours of Kleinburg occur around 6pm-10pm. The lifestyles of Torontonians and those of the Village are completely different, hence the need to adjust the hours of operation. I had faith Balzac's would be the new spot to hangout with friends, chat, or simply grab a coffee and stroll down the strip late evenings. Unfortunately, it seems as Balzac's lack of response to any review not only proves the satisfactory customer service from management, but that we will need to find another coffee spot. Overpriced flavoured lattes which taste like nothing but pure sugar. Having paid 15 dollars for two large lattes (grande size cups at starbucks), I expected something a little bit better than to taste symple syrup or whatever they put in those lattes..considering both of them were "half " sweet. Although we got two different favours (salted caramel and oat milk cookie) they tasted the exact same. Didn't think i would say this..but even starbucks flavoured lattes are better.. Quite a disappointment. I mean i guess i paid for having been served at Kleinburg.. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ Bunch of unprofessional running a coffee shop . Disgusting experience of my life drinking a coffee from this place . There were flies on the food and they were serving the same food to people .

Great atmosphere - My visit to Balzac’s Coffee Roasters in Kleinburg was an absolute delight. The establishment boasts an impressive variety of selections, offering an extensive range of premium Arabica whole bean coffees, from robust blends to distinctive single-origin varieties. Their tea offerings are equally noteworthy, with highlights such as the exquisite Kusmi’s Green Darjeeling. The pastry selection, including the delectable maple pumpkin scones, provides a perfect complement to their beverages, ensuring something to satisfy every palate. The staff demonstrated remarkable knowledge and enthusiasm for their craft. They were eager to engage, answering my inquiries about coffee roasts and brewing techniques with insightful and well-informed recommendations. Their expertise and approachable demeanor greatly enhanced the overall experience, making it both educational and enjoyable. The atmosphere at the Kleinburg location, housed in the beautifully restored Arthur McNeil House, is truly exceptional. The setting exudes historical charm while maintaining a warm and inviting ambiance, ideal for both quiet reflection and lively conversation. The wrap-around patio adds a delightful touch, offering a serene spot to enjoy a beverage while taking in the picturesque surroundings of Kleinburg village.

Good and satisfying as usual. However, the Balzac hours culture is the way it is, and those who have been Balzac visitors for a very long time since their early days know about their hours and expect it. But many such as myself still feel they could extend their hours by one hour more. To those complaining about the prices, Balzac's is still grouped with the independent and mom 'n pop businesses. Take the time to read their company story. It's also that the products and ingredients are of higher quality and many locally Canadian. Balzac also purchases, saves and restores heritage buildings to host their cafes in. It's become a theme for them, and it's a great cause.

And the big factor: this is a café with culture, and is café culture - not trying to be one. Also, this isn't fast-food or a cafe in the fast-food category. Tied to this is how Canadians have a higher minimum-wage than its American neighbour does down south. More employee rights are found in Canada as well. This will be reflected in Canadian products and food. And again, quality of food and ingredients, and regulations are higher in Canada compared to the USA. But the situation is different if a drink or product you ordered was made poorly, or if there was a bad employee, then that is what the company, or any company is also there for - to be informed about that...
