My recent visit to Bombay Touch restaurant in Vaughan left an indelible mark, thanks to its delectable offerings and impeccable service.
Accompanied by my son, we ventured into Bombay Touch, where he was delighted to find his favorite, the Masala Dosa, on the menu. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that all the food was prepared fresh to order. I opted for the Spicy Masala Dosa, and it was a revelation. The dosa was perfectly crafted - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and generously filled with the aromatic and spicy masala. The flavors were authentic, and the freshness of the ingredients shone through, making each bite a true delight.

Read moreI came for dinner with my mom on Super Bowl Sunday. I reserved a table 15 minutes before arrival but it was not busy. It is in a plaza outside the promenade mall with plenty of free parking. I was so excited that they had a separate vegan menu. My mom noticed in the regular menu that they had doas and idli which I love. I asked the server if they were vegan and after checking with the owner she said yes. We ordered the avocado chaat and pani puri, both of which had gluten. The avocado chaat had minimal papdis and it was easy to remove them from my plate to avoid the gluten. It was very flavourful and delicious. The idli and vada came already in sambar. I prefer it separate but I didn't ask how it was served ahead of time so I ate it. Normally I love coconut chutney but I did not like theirs. It was bland and liquidy. The sambar was fine but was more like daal than sambar. The idlis were not very soft and I did not enjoy them. The vada was ok but I've had much better. My plain dosa arrived and as I tasted it I could taste butter and it hurt my stomach. I asked if it was cooked in butter or ghee and the server and owner confirmed it was cooked in ghee. I explained that ghee is not vegan and he tried to say it was since the solids are removed from it. I explained that I could not eat it and that anyone with a dairy allergy could find it fatal. They apologized and said they could make me one cooked in oil vs ghee. At that point I felt unwell so I just canceled it. My mom had the masala dosa and said it was ok. We were not impressed but as my mom said...you don't go to a punjabi restaurant for south indian food. Lesson learned. I would go back and try their traditional dishes on the vegan menu. My sister has ordered their punjabi food many times and it is much better than their south...
