What a joke this place is! I added more to this in response to owner reply. I legitimately had a bad experience and they try and spin it as I am liar just like they did upon my initial visit! Posting for the competition? "No one EVER identifies themselves as the owner"?? Oh yeah really? You can say this with confidences? This NEVER happens? Are you calling me a liar again?! Classless! Own up to your mistakes, this did happen to me I am not making it up and I gave the competition a better review because they were/are BETTER, and you'll notice i reviewed more than just the competition on that date. I was bored and had time so I put in MANY reviews on the same date. My rating has been downgraded. What a terrible establishment. Avoid Costa Verde, there really are better options and management/owner/what ever the heck they want to call themselves are a bunch of classless jokers. Dried out chicken, tasteless sauce, patronizing service, classless staff.

Original Review: "I give them a 2 only because the chicken was not bad, it was decent. Based on the food alone, they would get a 3 maybe even 4. BUT I base this on an interaction from about a year ago, I decided to try this place out as I passed by it a few times and love Portuguese chicken. I ordered at the cash and was told to sit and wait, i then noticed many people who came in after me and were served before me. I eventually asked them what was going on and was greeted by a man who introduced himself as the owner who proceeded to tell me I should have placed my order at the counter where they are cooking the chicken. I replied with "why would she take my order and money when she wasn't supposed to" he said she was new did not offer any sort of apology and said I would have to wait. I do not believe that we ordered in the wrong spot because everyone else did the same thing we did and was served accordingly. Why lie to the customer and place the blame on them? If I were the owner I would have apologized, took responsibility and said "don't worry, your order is on us". His conduct was shameful and for that reason I will NEVER be back. A few days ago, I asked my wife to call this restaurant to order a grilled chicken at around 5:50 PM. The staff told my wife that the chicken would be ready in 30MIN. We arrived at Costa Verde at around 6:30 PM and my wife went in to pick up the chicken. I was waiting for 20 min outside in the car with my boy and later decided to go and check why it was taking so long. When I got in, my wife was talking to the manager or owner (i assume he is the onwer) so I asked my wife what happened. It was around 6:50 PM and the owner told us the chicken is not ready yet and he could not give us an expected time to have our food. It was not the first time it happened to us at Costa Verde. I then told them that their pick up process doesn't work properly as I also saw customers complaining in other occasions. He told us "Are you teaching me how to operate my business? I am running this business for 30 years". His response to our complain was very rude and there was no apologies for the waiting time. I decided to leave as my boy got so tired and the owner never say SORRY for this mess. I think the restaurant has good quality food but there are many restaurants with good/better quality food and kind service in Vaughan. I suggest if you want to get some food from there, then you better walk in and order in person to avoid this kind of situation. I am no longer ordering food at Costa Verde. I rather go somewhere else where I can have a combination of good food and good service. One of my favorite Portuguese restaurant that I used to go most often. Taste is great. Portion is big some time it's good for 2of us. Sauce is the best part. We always ask for more and they never refuse. I was there yesterday 28th November around 6:30 PM. I was waiting on the cashier line to place my order. I was on line 3rd. As soon as a reach to the cashier she told me to go to the other side to order. Then I went to the other line waiting again for more than 5 mins even though the line is empty they are not ready to serve me. Finally the lady there asked me what would I like to order. Then I said I need a portion of potato only. She said I don't need to stand on this side just order on the other side. Then I moved back to the other side waited for another more than 5 minutes and now the 3rd lady watching at me and didn't had any plan to offer me any assistance. So I asked her that I just need a portion of potato and you guys keeps me send every side of the shop not even knowing what am I here for. Then she finally helped me to get out from there I was standing there more than 20 minutes to buy a portion of potatoes. I have been going this place for years and was a happy customer before.
