We had reservations for 12 people on Saturday May 10 at 10:30 am. When we got there at 10:33 there was a line up of people waiting to be seated. By the time we got to the front of the line it was 10:38. We let them know our party size had changed from 12 to 7 and that we had a reservation. The woman said they waited for us and gave the table away. We told them we were waiting in the line and couldn’t cut to the front. She said she could seat us outside which wasn’t ideal because it was still chilly and windy outdoors, but we agreed as everyone was starving. I don’t understand how you can give away a table meant for 12 people within 10 minutes of the reservation time, which we were literally there but couldn’t check in because of the line.

We were seated at 10:40 and at 11:40 we were still sitting there without any food. We asked for an update and by noon we finally started to get our meals, by this point everyone had already finished their coffee and teas. Once things started arriving so did the issues. I ordered water and it came with a lipstick stain on the glass, we let the waitress know and she went to change it. The second glass also had lipstick on it. Finally a third time the glass was clean. My BIL ordered a water and his glass also came with lipstick on the glass. At this point he gave up after seeing what I went through and didn’t bother asking for another glass. I ordered an omelette with a side of fruits instead of potatoes. The fruit arrived and there was hair in it. We let the waitress know and she went to call the manager. The only thing the manager offered was another plate of fruits. One of us had ordered avocado toast with potatoes. The potatoes also had a white hair in it. We were so frustrated by this point we didn’t bother telling them and asked for our bill.

Shockingly we were charged full price for everything and then asked to leave a review. As nice and sweet as our server Chloe was nothing could have saved today’s breakfast experience. The management handles customer service extremely poorly. Hygiene standards need to be evaluated. There’s only so much a great server can do, but if food and customer service by management is trash there’s no reason to be...

My husband and I came to this location around 12:40 and ordered a peach mimosa and a lavender lemon mocktail, the eggs sunny side up, bacon, potatoes and french toast with fresh fruit and my husband got blueberry pancakes, eggs over easy, bacon, sausage potato, 2 maple syrups on the side, 1 side of white bread and 1 side of rye. Unfortunately, we had to leave due to an emergency immediately after we ordered, so we requested for take out instead. As we sat down to open up our food, we realized that we were missing the entire order of french toast and fruit, while the other order was complete. We were charged 70 dollars before tax and didn't get a breakdown of the order. From our recollection, the drinks were 8-10 and the dishes were at 18-22.50. If the maple syrup and the toast were extra, I believe it should have been discussed rather than offered as most places offer maple syrup and toast with their breakfasts. we had carbs in our entrees, so we would have been fine without had we known. I wouldn't have been so disappointed if I had my correct and full order, but I live 20 minutes away and couldn't come back or turn around due to the emergency.

From what we did experience, the server was kind, understanding, and timely. We left having tipped 20% of our bill even though we didn't understand how the total was 70 for 2 x 8-10 dollar drinks and 2 x 18-22.50 dollar entrees. The total should been at most 60.5. I feel bad writing a negative review because she was so kind, but I am more than a little peeved by this. I would have been less frustrated had I received my full meal and not excluded my french toast that I ordered and the fresh fruit, but I paid more and received less.

As we left, we were discussing how we wanted to come back and try it out since the service was quick and they had good energy, but now I'm just left feeling disappointed by my experience. This was our first time coming here, but I don't know if I would come back again.

I just want to say again, the server was very kind, timely and understanding. This is not a slight to her. Just disappointed by not receiving our full order that we paid (what seems to be extra) for. We paid just...

My friend and I went here for the very first time yesterday. We are both vegetarians. The morning rush was over and the place was near empty. We were shown to a table and asked if it was okay, and we politely asked if we could sit at an adjacent table. Initially we were told yes but before we sat down the hostess changed her mind and said since there was only two of us, we could not sit at a table for four. The tables in there are tables for two that are just stacked together to make tables for larger crowds so we wondered why a table could not just be taken away and a table for two could've easily be made in an area that was more favorable to us, especially since the restaurant was not full and initially we were told we could in fact sit at the table we wanted. Anyway, we did not make a big deal with this and just sat where we were told. Since this is a breakfast place, my friend wanted a basic breakfast of just eggs, potatoes and toast. This option did not exist on the menu which really puzzled us. All of the egg options came with meat. We thought that this would be no problem and we could just substitute the meat with maybe extra potatoes or an additional egg, but when we asked our server, she said there was no substitutions allowed. If anything we were told we could add whatever extra sides we wanted but we would still need to pay the full price of the original breakfast with meat, even though we were not getting any meat. While there were vegetarian omelets, available, if you are vegetarian and wanted a basic breakfast, that option does not exist for you. In all fairness, we brought this to the manager's attention and we were initially met with a bit of resistance, but we were allowed a substitution but was clearly told it was only a one time thing. I ordered the veggie omelet which was good, but my coffee was cold and tasteless....and no refills. Needless to say this would be our first and last time there. The most interesting part is that two separate parties came in shortly after and a table of 4 was quickly and easily reconfigured into 2 tables of two without either of the...

I visited Pure and Simple this past Sunday for what was supposed to be a special birthday celebration, but from the moment we walked in, it was a mess. We had a joined the wait list for a table of six and were told the wait would be 20 minutes. However, it ended up being a full hour. During that hour, we were informed our table was ready, but when we arrived, there were only five seats, not six. Back to waiting. Once we finally sat down, the service was rushed. Our server hurried us through our orders with “Okay, next” after every person. It felt like I was being pressured to decide, which took away from what should have been a relaxed dining experience. Not once were we asked if we were celebrating anything — and we were, my birthday. When my iced coffee arrived, it looked like a glass of milk with barely a hint of espresso. I politely mentioned it to the server, only to be told, “That’s how they are, but you can pay for an extra shot.” I’ve had their iced coffee before, and it never looked or tasted like just milk. I don’t place all the blame on the server, though. I believe this was more of a management issue. It was clear the staff was overwhelmed, and yet, they continued accepting more customers. It felt like all the managers cared about was packing in as many people as possible, no matter the strain on the staff or the quality of the experience. Unfortunately, my birthday at Pure and Simple was far from enjoyable. Very disappointing.

It was our first time here and chose it based on the reviews. Terrible food! I don't understand why many people left good reviews. The place the clean and beautiful with nice decoeation. Started our breakfast with coffee. The Americano was served while it was spilled in the saucer. We ordered American with cream and they brought a bowl of mixed creams and milks which there were only two creams in for that large cup of Americano. The Cappuccino was watery. For the main food, we ordered one Ray's extravaganza. Please don't ever order that. It's horrible. It's a mix of fries with hollandaise sauce and if you order it with over-easy eggs it turns into a mushy mix of polyunsaturated fat. Very greasy. We also ordered one Xplosion. The french toast was basically a not-toasted toast with banana, strawberry and chocolate (I asked for gluten free). I also asked for an over-medium eggs but it was completely over-easy. And the strawberry was moldy! When the server asked about what toast we would want (apparently it comes with the dish), we asked for brown toast but they never brought it!!! We'll definitely won't go back and don't recommend this place. And lastly our server was laughing when we told her that our food was not good.

We decided to visit this restaurant after seeing several positive reviews. However, our experience was unfortunately average overall. I ordered the Caesar cocktail. It was quite ordinary - you'd likely only order it if you were specifically craving that drink. The flavors were alright but average; nothing memorable. The home fries side dish was middling, neither bad nor great. The waffles were slightly better than average. The fried chicken by itself did seem high quality and flavorful. However, when not paired with any sides or sauce, it became rather dry and uninteresting. The avocado lox dish featured fresh, quality salmon. However, the pre-made, store-bought guacamole brought down the components overall. Really the only stand-out aspect was the fresh-squeezed orange juice, which was naturally sweet and tasty. In summary, while certain dishes showed promise, the execution and flavors were inconsistent. The food and drinks ranged from average to good, but were not as exceptional as advertised. I likely would not go out of my way to revisit. However, some menu items and preparation could be easily improved to match the raving reviews that originally drew us in.
