What can I say, this place used to be a great spot to have a hearty Italian meal. I would recommend it all the time. Not anymore.
I am mortified at how poor the customer service was. I came there with my friends to have dinner that evening. I don’t know the names of the girls who were serving us but they were rude and did not apologize for the mistakes they made with my order.
First mistake. The first server did not take care when placing both pizzas on the table. One ended up tipping over my glass spilling water all over our first pizza. She didn’t apologize but offered to remake the second pizza. I can understand that accidents happen so I didn’t make a big deal about it.
Before she left, I immediately noticed that my first pizza was supposed to have an extra topping of hot peppers but didn’t. When we asked the same server she insisted that they were already on it. She offered to get “extra” on the “side.” We also noticed that the pizza was soggy and not well done. I have never had this experience with this same pizza before. At this point we were just too hungry to say anything more, knowing that it would just add more delay.
We were nearly finished our wings and first pizza when the second pizza came. The second pizza was the same, just as soggy. We also finally received my “extra” hot peppers from another server. We asked her if she sees the same hot peppers on our pizza. She looked confused, then immediately said “no, but that’s why I brought you peppers on the side. I charged you for them so, here.” We said we wanted it baked into the pizza, she reponds with “well, the guys in the back made a mistake, what do you want me to do... just forget about it.”
That is not right. The first server denies anything missing and the second server sees the issue but instead of offering to remake my pizza or refund the pizza, she decides to ignore it. The first server comes back again and we asked her what she was going to do about this issue, and that it’s rude how the previous server didn’t offer any solutions. The first server said she’ll “ask the guys in the back” and left. I don’t know what she was going to ask about, but she never came back. Even as we were leaving, we saw the girls hiding in the kitchen. We even waited at the front for a few mins for them to come out. We eventually gave up and left as new customers came in and they immediately made an appearance.
This is unacceptable and I won’t be recommending this place or...
Read moreupdate: after initially giving two stars on my first visit and revisiting ricci's today in a pinch, i'm downgrading it to just one star, and it's not even worth that. for the almost $70 it cost for our three dishes, i came away thinking it was barely above high school cafetria quality- in some ways actually worse-, and both of us also got sick within an hour of leaving. the pastas were pretty much soups today- it was busy, so i get everyone's in a rush in the kitchen, but let the pasta and sauce emulsify a bit longer... it's not at all appetizing the way we were served both our vodka and carbonara sauces today- and the "carbonara" is a far cry from the dish it's named after. how this place has such a high rating and remains so busy in the middle of woodbridge no less is completely beyond me- maybe for young families with little kids it's good enough, but it really, truly, is bottom-tier food. never again.
original review: i've driven by probably hundreds of times, but somehow only recently gave actually eating here a thought. when a close friend raved about it, i had to go. the photos here in the reviews looked great i thought, so i was really looking forward to my first time, but came away pretty disappointed. of the five dishes we ordered, only one was decent (at best). i don't know, it all just tasted like the most low-effort version of the dish it was supposed to represent- much like banquet hall food. it seems to be a high volume spot, so i can appreciate maybe some corners are cut, or maybe not the best ingredients. i will say it's decent value for the portion size, and i totally appreciate it's a local staple- fits the express family restaurant vibe well. i'll probably even end up eating there again, tbh, but really nothing to write home about. much prefer the pizza and past (and everything else we...
Read moreThis evening, I ordered 4 panzos and rice balls for pick up. They told me on the phone it will take 20 minutes, which was at 4:48pm. I got there in 30 minutes and it still wasn't ready. They told me they just started making it, when they noticed I wasn't happy to hear that, they said no its almost done. People came and gone and I was still waiting. Every time I asked them how long, they said its almost ready, but I still had to wait over an hour. Then they realized they charged me for the wrong order. Then when we got that figured out they realized they only made 3 panzos, so I had to wait even longer. By the time I left it was 6:30pm. They should have made me a priority but they kept on taking other people's orders after mine and they got their food before I did. When we got home the first 3 panzos and rice balls were already getting cold as they screwed up my order and had to make the last panzo when everything else was ready. Then we realized that they gave us the wrong panzo that we ordered. After all of this, they didn't even have the courtesy to apologize for all of this inconvenience. You would think that's the least you can do. This is so ridiculous and poor customer service. No matter how busy you are, this is not how you deal with customers and this situation. You really need to get your restaurant organized and tell your customers the correct time their food...
