I picked up lunch at this restaurant, after a swim. What you see is average fare; moderately priced, and sushi served warm from the just fried morsels of fried sweet potato tempura and avocado in one roll and shrimp tempura, avocado and eel on the next roll. When they ask you if you would like eel sauce for example, you should choose it. Be prepared to add in the notes section that you would like utensils, or soya sauce, wasabi and tempura sauce.
This is an AYCE restaurant that screens patrons for temperature and observes COVID -19 protocol. I was considering the AYCE, but I am very old fashioned and I like my rolls looking extremely well defined by even cuts, or creative chef skills. I also like to feel fish that is cool on the tip of my tongue after it’s dipped in soya sauce.
Since, my entire meal was warm from the miso soup to the sweet potato and avocado- I realized, this is a busy restaurant. (Take-out) The avocado could not be any more ripe! Some of the details like the lingering taste of dried frozen shrimp, or the smell of old cooking oil at the door might turn some discerning patrons away.
I will have to try another maki roll in the future- to imagine catching some chilled fish after a cold swim. (3.7 points/ 5)
The experience of your sushi chef sitting yards away is just not possible in post-quarantine or take-out/ curb side. This experience is something that adds to the quality of your dining experience; I am convinced that curb side just does not compare.
While you will be content with the mediocrity of your meal; you might consider paying just a bit more, elsewhere. While I am just not dining in- right now, I am looking for meals that survive the trip home,...
Read moreI recently visited this sushi restaurant, and overall, it was an okay experience. The place itself is very small and a bit dark, but it was clean and well-organized, which I appreciated. The service stood out the most—the servers were polite, friendly, and very quick.
Now, the highlight: the sushi and hand rolls were absolutely fantastic. Everything tasted incredibly fresh, clean, and flavorful. If I go back, it will definitely be for the sushi alone.
Unfortunately, the rest of the food wasn’t as impressive. My friends and I all agreed that the vegetable udon and teriyaki dishes were disappointing. The steak teriyaki (and other meats served with teriyaki sauce) were grilled to medium well but lacked any seasoning beyond the sauce itself, which made the dishes feel one-dimensional. The vegetable udon was also underwhelming—there was an excessive amount of sauce and very few vegetables, mostly just broccoli, onion, and green pepper. I’m used to seeing a more balanced mix of veggies like zucchini, carrots, and broccoli in udon dishes, so this felt more like a soupy version of udon rather than a proper stir-fry. I hope they can work on adding more veggies.
Another small downside was that the all-you-can-eat (AYCE) menu is quite different from the regular menu. For example, the cheese wontons are only included as a one-time item on AYCE, and if you want more, they’ll charge extra.
while the space is cozy and the staff is lovely, the non-sushi dishes didn’t meet expectations. The sushi and hand rolls, however, were some of the best I’ve had, and they alone make this spot worth...

They don’t serve real sushi that we believe they are using overnight rice as sushi rice. All the sushi and rolls were falling apart when picking up. The sashimi was sliced into the thinnest size possible, and was cut into half, resulting in a size similar to a 25 cents coin. The vegetables were dark and didn’t look fresh. The sauce for all dishes were the same sweet sauce and were all given beyond extra.
Besides the terrible quality of the food, the service was also extremely bad. We waited a really long time before anything was presented and they keep on bringing on wrong orders afterwards. One particular waitress questioned why we didn’t finish something during the meal, why we were eating the way we did, and why we placed the plate the way we did and so on. She also talked to our table very rude and started arguments with us. We believe that particular waitress is racist since she never did anything above to any English native speakers and was actually very polite and nice to them. We suspect that she is the owner and others cannot and was afraid to say anything.
Tbh, I never had the urge to write any review, but this experience was just so terrible. I would never go there again and would definitely not...
