St. Louis Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Vaughan

First off I would like to state that I know the restaurant business, been in it my whole life and am currently a GM of a Kelseys location ( not the one beside this St Louis) I don't normally write reviews but i have to call this one out. I showed up with my wife, cousin and 4 year old son, place was busy and there was a wait, ok, np that's good for the restaurant. But, here's where I am very impressed..... There was only one hostess on ( found out her name was Jennifer) If my restaurant was close I would steal this girl, what an amazing employee...very polite, super organized, had the guests that were waiting all laughing, was on top of making sure guests were seated when it was there time...for a young hostess she was a star!! Most Owners and GMs don't realize that that girl at the front sets the customers mood for there entire time in the restaurant!! she's the first person guests see and talk too! Amazing Jennifer! 5 stars for you! Ok next Margaret was our server, again very polite and well versed on the menu. Very pleasant to have as a server, never made us feel rushed...Good Job! Food was good, came out in a decent amount of time and hot and fresh! Only complaint I have is on the wing nachos, could use more cheese, just were very plain. but we ordered 3 other apps, wings, kids meal and were all fantastic! Back to Jennifer....as busy as she was she still had time to acknowledge my 4 year old and help clear tables. Actually I noticed all staff were very attentive and help full with each other. I know this review is long, but well deserved! But there is one more shout out that is needed... The GM and management team - Great job!! Our experience at this establishment was awful.

We arrived here at 2:40 PM with a party of 4 and we're seated on the patio. There was some spilled drink on our table so when our waitress arrived and introduced herself she very quickly stopped what she was doing and said she'd get something to clean the table up. We waited until 3:05 (25 minutes and haven't even placed a drink order) and still had not seen the wait staff - so went inside to find our waitress who was seen talking with colleagues. When asking if she'd forgotten about us she said she'd be out in a minute. She then was observed coming and cleaning the table next to us before approaching us. She did not bring anything to clean the table but no big deal. We tried to order from the lunch menu which says it ends at 3 PM and explained that it was not our fault we had no seen any wait staff for the last 25 minutes to which we were told the computer will not let them enter lunch menu items after 3. Upon asking to speak to a manager we were told they're not available to talk to us. I asked the server if they had a blackberry sommersby to which I was told no only the original only to see the table next to us receive a blackberry sommersby from a different waitress. The food arrived cold, bland with no ketchup vinegar or cutlery. One of our party members who ordered the quesadilla was told her food would be a couple minutes longer then the rest but it didn't come until 20 minutes later when the rest of us had finished eating. We had to go find our server to pay the bill as she was again nowhere to be found even the bartender was shaking her head as we wandered around the restraint trying to pay our bill. The service at this location will have me never returning - it is disgraceful and I have seen better service from the staff at McDonald's...

Showed up at 3:00pm looking for a table for 7. We were told there would be a 30 minute wait. As we looked around there were tons of empty tables and the restaurant was about half full. We asked if we could at least sit at a table and order some drinks while we wait the 30 minutes, water would be very appreciated. It was 30 degrees outside with the sun beating down and we were rudely asked by the hostess to wait outside and she will come and get us. We waited outside for 15 minutes and 3 groups of people went inside and were seated in that time. By this point we go inside and ask about our table. They asked us to wait outside and we only got a table because we kept following up. We waited 30 minutes to order, it took an hour for food, drinks that we ordered came just before our food. While we were waiting a server spilled a drink on the ground and it splashed on 2 of our guests. Food was served cold, I asked for bacon and chicken on the side instead of on my sandwich twice when I was ordering as I have a food intolerance and break out in hives and get really sick. My sandwich and salad were both served with all the meat on top. I asked for it to be remade as again, I have a food intolerance and will get sick. They brought the “remade” salad and sandwich out and we asked the waitress to confirm that it was remade and we were assured that it was, I checked the sandwich before eating it and I found chicken inside. I asked again for it to be remade. Finally we got the proper meal that we ordered and at this point everyone else in our group had finished eating. Overall this was the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant ever. They did remove the items from our bill but not one person from our group were satisfied or enjoyed their experience.
