So disappointed.
We’d hoped for a good meal with good service at this relaunched restaurant but we ended up, eventually, with some good wine, good pasta, an MIA appie and dismal service. We were seated and given some water then left for 15min to sip the water, look at the menu, and wonder why we came here. Honestly, 15min before we see a server ? I’d like a drink to start please ! When our server eventually returned (after the 15min of silence) we (two of us) ordered a bottle of wine, an appetizer and mains, easy peasy. But…. it took 10 additional minutes before we got our wine (no extra water offered in the meantime). Okay, 25min in and at least we finally have a glass of wine and some hope that our appie will show up soon. 30min after the wine showed up we got our mains! Yep, the appie was MIA. This is NOT fine dining folks, the pasta tasted good but hey, why am I 55min in before I see any food on my table? Really, ANY food at all ! It’s pasta and the restaurant had maybe 30% butts in seats during our visit ! So, in lieu of the appie that we ordered what kept our appetite at bay while we waited 55min for our meals? Was there a bun, bread, anything? Nope, nada. So, pasta and wine are consumed, comes time to pay…. Mains were priced correctly (that’s good but kind of expected), no-show appie wasn’t charged (great), wine (sigh) was incorrectly priced (Saturday discount shown in the menu was missed). Minimum suggested tip: 20% so $30.00
We wanted this to work but it just didn’t. 25 minutes after seating before we get a drink and 55 minute after seating before we get any food at all. And it wasn’t busy! Sad, used to be a nice place to eat.
Maybe breakfast...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at the Vernon Lodge's upscale restaurant, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, with a refined yet relaxed atmosphere that made it perfect for a special evening out.
Our server, Hailey, truly elevated the experience. She was incredibly attentive without being intrusive, always anticipating our needs and answering questions with ease. Her friendly demeanor and deep knowledge of the menu helped guide our selections and made us feel well taken care of throughout the meal.
The food was nothing short of phenomenal—definitely five-star quality. I highly recommend the braised short rib, which was incredibly tender and flavorful, practically melting in your mouth. The mussels were equally impressive, served in a rich, savory broth that was perfect for dipping. Every dish was beautifully presented and expertly prepared, showcasing the kitchen's attention to detail and culinary skill.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Darrel, the manager, who was engaging and personable. He stopped by to check in on our experience, shared a few laughs with us, and made us feel like valued guests. His presence added a personal touch that’s rare to find in many dining establishments.
Overall, this restaurant is a gem within the Vernon Lodge. Whether you're staying at the hotel or simply looking for an elegant dining experience in Vernon, I highly recommend visiting. I’ll definitely be...
Read moreSo first off, the vibes here are amazing. Imagine being on a work trip as a solo female traveler. My go to routine is to order take out and slink back to my room and hide after a long day of travel and meetings. Netflix and solo chilll, if you will. Foiling this established plan, no one answered the phone at Cabana Bar, so I had to venture outside the comfort of my sweet atrium room and head into the restaurant and eat at a table like an actual human.
5 stars to the 70s design of this place. It's my dream. I love everything about it.
5 stars to my Bahn Mi Burger and salad for being not only on special, but damn delicious.
5 stars to my EXTREMELY REASONABLY PRICED rose that made eating alone in an atrium somehow even more romantic.
5 stars to the waiters, especially Daryl (sp?), who saw into my soul and knew exactly what I needed (take out dessert so I could partially revel in my slothness in my hotel room), and who somehow read my mind and separated my liquor tab from my food tab so I can charge my meal back to my cleint without looking like a lush.
10/10 would recommend to everyone to leave your hotel room and eat in the atrium where you can order from both Brix Menu and the Cabana Menu, which is also just chef's kiss for...
