I had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Punjab Restaurant in Vernon, and I must say, it exceeded all expectations.
Opened on June 29th, this restaurant has already created a buzz among food lovers – and for good reason.
From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant Punjabi atmosphere.
The interior is tastefully decorated, blending traditional Indian elements with a modern, cozy vibe.
The staff are courteous, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food they serve.
I started my meal with freshly made samosas and a cup of masala chai – both were delicious and perfectly spiced.
Their butter chicken is one of the best I’ve had in the Okanagan region – creamy, flavorful, and authentic.
The tandoori platter was sizzling hot, well-marinated, and offered a delightful smoky taste.
For vegetarians, the palak paneer and chana masala are must-tries – rich in flavor and generously portioned.
I especially appreciated the wide variety of dishes on their menu, catering to both North Indian and Punjabi tastes.
The naan bread is fresh, fluffy, and the garlic version is highly recommended.
I was pleasantly surprised by the presentation – everything looked as good as it tasted.
The mango lassi was the perfect cooling touch to complement the spices of the main course.
Pricing is fair for the quality and portion sizes – you really get your money’s worth.
They offer both dine-in and take-out options, which is super convenient.
The restaurant is clean, well-organized, and clearly managed with great care.
It’s also family-friendly, and I saw several happy families enjoying their meals.
The owner personally greeted guests, which added a special touch to the overall experience.
You can tell the food is made with love and deep-rooted culinary tradition.
It’s great to see an authentic Indian restaurant bringing cultural richness to Vernon.
I’ll definitely be coming back to try more dishes – especially their weekend specials.
This place is perfect for everything from casual lunches to celebratory dinners.
I highly recommend it to anyone craving real Punjabi food in Vernon.
A big thumbs up to the entire team at Punjab Restaurant – you’ve made a fantastic start!
Wishing you continued success and many happy customers...
Read moreThis was my first time dining in at Namaste.
I ordered the following: vegetable pakora, vegetarian noodles, cheese and spinach naan, and a Pepsi.
The total came to 32 bucks after tax and tip.
The pakora was very crunchy. It was very good.
The vegetarian noodles also had crunchy onions in there which I really liked.
They put a lot of spinach into the spinach naan. I think Popeye The Sailor Man would be jealous. It's delicious.
This restaurant is located on the train tracks right before the Safeway plaza. It's the 3rd restaurant to occupy this area in the past 10 years. It was a familiar scene as nobody else was dining in. I really hope it doesn't close like Cuisine of India did. For some reason people in Vernon don't like this location. Too bad because it's a delicious restaurant.
They asked if I wanted the pakora served before everything else beforehand.
Despite serving Coca Cola glasses, all beverages are from Pepsi. I found this hilarious.
Recommendations: If there is a large group, and they play the international music for over an hour, they should randomly play Toxic by Britney Spears really loud to throw everyone off. Another vegetable in the noodles would be great. Maybe more cheese in the cheese and spinach naan.
Overall, this restaurant is really good. I highly recommend it. Everything tasted great! Service and staff...
Read moreEverything was excellent, a wonderful meal. Very comfortable dining area and a small bar. Clean and spacious. We were warmly greeted and seated almost immediately. Namaste has an extensive menu, including a bunch of vegetarian options. The staff is warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about their offerings. Our waitperson was very attentive and friendly. The samosas are some of the best I've ever had, hands down terrific. I should've taken photos; next time. All four in our party truly enjoyed our meals and will be going back for another great meal, soon. My mouth is watering thinking about their naan. Oh so good.
Oh yeah, their prices are quite reasonable. Namaste is truly a great place to have a wonderful meal. Go, enjoy yourself. You'll walk out of there smiling. UPDATE 2023/09/08 The vegetable samosas are still perfect, the made to order chai tea is outstanding. They offer multiple kinds of rice and just about perfect garlic naan. My in-laws enjoy fish dishes; plenty to choose from. I'm vegetarian and always find plenty of dishes...
