Macchiato Caffe at The Juliet — Restaurant in Victoria

First-time customer alert !!📢⚠️ Seems like this place is a local place since my partner and I have seen many people go in and out to stop by.👫👨‍💻🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️ Vibe: They have an outside patio and inside seating available.🪑⛱️ Inside is standard with basic decor. Only certain drinks can be made with ice. Though, compared to other locations, making an Ice Lavender Latte is no issue.🧊🧊 The experience wise was just not great.. as we both found our drinks TOO sweet🍬 and my partner requested to get it remade. The worker said oh sorry next time... For us, if we went to Starbucks, they would remake it right away. We are not locals. We will not come back next time around.👎 2nd time, I went up to ask the bartender again. She said okay and remade it but mentioned to let them know next time. She did remake it but just didn't seem like a good vibe. Coffee shop didn't cut it for me for the...

I ordered a tea latte and didn't know that Macchiato makes them sweetened. When I was further down the line I asked the barista to make it unsweetened, and the response was "too bad, it's already made". It was quite off-putting. It's basically 4 dollars for a tea bag with milk - any other cafe would just make it again. I had also bought food from them so was definitely a paying customer. I thought, maybe they have a 'no remaking drinks' policy, but my friend further down the line had got her drink made again because they had used the wrong milk, so they are selective over remaking drinks. Now I have a 4 dollar drink that I can't drink because I am very sensitive to added fast-acting sugars.

It is unfortunate because they do have good food and I like to support local, but this is why people go...

Recommended during our visit to Victoria, Macchiato elevates the traditional caffe experience to another level. The coffee and lattes are excellent and reminded us of Europe. And we looked at their great prices saying, "Are you kidding?" Coffee led to lunch as we couldn't resist trying the fresh sandwiches, salads and soup that called us from the display. Found out that their meats come from an Italian deli, and their delicious bread rolls are selected from three local bakeries. Folks just try it. Bypass Starbucks and feel the love.
