Stone Ground Pizza Co. & Bar — Restaurant in Victoria

My family was in town for our daughter's graduation, and we were needing some good pizza. We found Stone Ground Pizza Co. was right across the street from our hotel. We placed our order online, only to find out that they had run out of dough for 3 of the 4 sizes we ordered just before after the order went through.... Decided to walk across the street to make sure I wasn't charged for the order. We were met by the Head Chef (didn't catch his name) and the owner Morgan Watson. They apologized for running out of dough and explained how the order refund would work. For a situation beyond their control, Morgan offered to make things right by offering the 3 pizzas we ordered in the smaller size, AND an additional 2 more pizzas to make up for the size difference which he would put on the house! To say the least, we were very grateful that Morgan offered us this alternative...and his further hospitality and conversation while we waited for the order was what TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE is all about!! If you want great stone fired pizza (at a very reasonable cost I might add) then you have to go to Stone Ground Pizza Co. at the Double Tree Hotel! All pizzas were beyond our expectation and we will definitely be coming back the next time we are in town! Thanks again...

Honestly wanted to give this a good rating but just couldn’t. They literally have a dessert section and don’t offer any of it?? Maybe fix your menu to offer what you actually sell. Deep fryer out of commission so half the appetizers gone too? Caprese salad wasn’t even made with Roma tomato’s.. mediocre at best, and nowhere even close to traditional. Margherita pizza was soaked and floppy in the centre with a mix of sour cherry tomatoes and whatever hot house style tomato’s they put under the cheese too, and everything just slid off first bite. One piece had wood fire char and the wood fire aspect was only thing that saved it, but nowhere even close to traditional style Neapolitan pizza. Stone Ground Pizza Co. & Bar is truly a hidden gem, tucked away inside the DoubleTree by Hilton—enter through the hotel, and prepare to be delighted! From the moment you step in, you know you’re in for a treat. Their pizzas are, in my opinion, the best in town. With a perfectly baked crust, rich flavors, and that authentic Italian blend of cheese, every bite is heavenly. The pasta was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor, and the drinks menu offered a great variety to round out the meal.
