Disappointing. I passed by this sushi place on one of my lunch breaks and was intrigued so decided to look it up. They do not have their own website so their menu is posted on their Facebook page only. I saw such great reviews and prices on their Facebook page so I was very excited to try it on my lunch break today. I ordered the Teriyaki Box Lunch Special with tofu. On the online menu posted on their Facebook page, it said it was $9.99. When I arrived to pick up my order, she said it was $11.54, so $10.99 plus tax. I told her that the price was $9.99 online. She asked me to show her the menu posted on their Facebook page so I did. The photo of the menu was posted in July 2018. She said she meant to take it down and upload a new menu. I thought she would honor the price that was posted online since it was her fault that the menu had not been updated, and that was the price I was expecting to pay when I ordered the meal. However, she charged me the $10.99 anyway which I decided wasn't a big deal so long as the food was worth that extra dollar. However, when I sat down at my desk and opened it up, I was very disappointed at how small the portion was. There were only 3 slices of tofu and the menu said "stir fried vegetables" but I only got one large piece of broccoli and and some fried bean sprouts. Very disappointing experience. I was hoping it could become my go-to lunch spot, but after this I don't think I...
Read moreTucked away in a small neighbourhood strip mall, this family-run sushi restaurant offers outstandingly friendly service and a surprisingly large range of dishes. The chef is Korean with a certification in Japanese sushi preparation. The seafood is consistently fresh and prices are reasonable. While mainly focused on sushi, the menu also features other Japanese dishes (yakitori, udon, etc.) as well as a tiny but very tasty selection of Korean dishes (bibimbap, dagkangjeong).
Seating is limited and the restaurant is locally popular, so reservations are a good idea in the evenings; takeout is also available. Family-friendly, with wheelchair-accessible seating at the front. Open for lunch and dinner from Monday-Friday, dinner only on Saturday, closed on Sunday.
Cha’s recommendations: tuna tataki, spicy seafood udon, chirashi sushi, sashimi bibimbap, chicken katsu, goma-ae, salmon teriyaki, agedashi tofu, and (among the daily lunch specials) the sashimi bento. All delicious. Individual sashimi are good too — I could eat their hotate...
Read moreMy gf (whom lives in the area) and I visited this restraunt because we'd not been here before as it's relatively new. When we entered the hostess/proprietor was very welcoming and immediately we felt at ease. Once seated we mentioned our unfamiliarity with Korean cuisine and she explained each dish. When our selections came out she again explained each small dish. What they were and how the meal was traditionally consumed.
We both really enjoyed our meals all the way from the sweet potato noodles to the bisected mushroom branded with the restraunts name (which you can see in one of the photos).
I can't recommend this place enough. Having said that the restraunt will be temporary closed while the owner travels for the holidays so phone if it doesn't show up...
