I loved the atmosphere of this place, most customers were couples and the elderly on a Sunday morning. The decorations of the restaurant is on point and the blue paint made me feel nice, fresh, and awake when dining here for breakfast (I kinda sound cheezy but it's true)!!! Most of the time when I review places, one of the things I consider is the state of their washroom and the women's washroom here was spacious, clean, and had 2 mirrors and it wasn't the stall type of washroom you'd find in most restaurants, only one person can use it at a time. The food was okay. My companion had the Smoked Salmon Benedict (which comes with hash browns) and I ordered a combination of sides because: one, I wasn't that hungry and two, didn't find a menu item special enough to try; so I asked if I could only order side orders and the lovely waitress told me that I can! So I ordered 2 eggs (which you can have in any way you want) for $2.75, guacamole for $1.00, whole wheat toast for $3.00 and hash browns for $3.00. The hash browns were not good honestly, they were greasy and not fresh. My companion complained about the hash browns too. The service was great and the prices were reasonable. They did have juices but when I asked if they are fresh, I was told that they are not, so I ordered coffee and asked if they have any cow milk alternatives (soy or almond milk for example) and unfortunately they didn't have those either which sucks because I'm intolerant to cow milk (and so are a lot of other people and also vegans)! Lastly, we had a 15% off because we stayed at the Inn overnight which is why we tried this restaurant in the first place! So, in short, I'd recommend this place for one time dining but would probably not be back myself the next time I'm in Victoria.

EXTREMELY RUDE STAFF. We went in for breakfast and ordered two coffees among other items, but we were charged for three coffees. Since I can’t handle much caffeine, I asked my boyfriend for a small sip of his coffee, and he didn't request a refill either. When we questioned our server about the extra charge, he was extremely rude and loudly insisted that even if I just had a sip, it counted as a third coffee. He also told us we couldn't share coffees. The food was absolutely delicious, but our experience was soured by this encounter. We ended up paying for the extra coffee that we neither ordered nor received, but it was the principle of the matter. We've never heard of couples being unable to share their meals without being charged for two items when only one was ordered.

We enjoyed a yummy dinner here on a busy Saturday evening. Staff made room for our group of six very quickly. The food and drinks were very yummy. I had a most delicious Tibetan Bowl with the crispy beef and coconut rice. It was fresh and absolutely! 5 ⭐️ for my meal. The nachos were yummy and full of cheese and veggies. The burgers and fries were good. Both my kids loved the chowder. The only real complaint, was the order of spring rolls was forgotten, and we didn’t receive them until the end of our meal. They were good, but literally dripping in oil. The server was very kind and apologized for the mix up (sounds like another large table accidently got our order). We unfortunately did end up paying for it. I’d definitely go back though. The meal was great.

This is the second time I've stayed here. I love it, the rooms are small and still use the old style hot water heating radiator so if it's cold in there it will take a bit to heat up. There is no AC so I'd expect it can get hot in the summer. The hotel has a colourful history and is over 100 years old. The hallways are adorned with Emily Carr Paintings (she died there) also the hotel supposedly is one of the most haunted in Canada although I haven't experienced anything while there. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you're into older style hotels that aren't just another boring place then this place is for you.
