We have lived in James Bay and ordered here for 10+ years but after the last 3 visits in a row, I can no longer recommend Superior Pizza. It's really unfortunate because this place used to be the best pizza in town.
They regularly mess up our orders now, wrong toppings or toppings missing or not enough toppings.
The most recent visit on a Friday night I ordered one single large pizza for pick-up. I was quoted 25 minutes. When I got there, my pizza hadn't even gone in the oven yet. So I waited 15 more minutes for it to be ready. The cook called my name and I saw him pull my pizza out and start to cut it. I could see it from the front counter, it was completely burned on top. I said "that's my pizza? It's burned!" The kid says, "that's not burned" it was very clearly dark brown (burned cheese) on top. I am a red seal chef, I know what a burned pizza looks like. I said, "please make me another one, that's inedible". They weren't going to do it at first but I pressed the issue. I was already using a $20 credit from my previous order because of a similar mess-up and this kid says I'll give you a $30 credit. I said, "I don't want a credit, I want the pizza I ordered". When I did eventually get my pizza, it was perfectly cooked, but then I wonder why ALL the pizzas can't be cooked with that level of care.
The problem lately is that there seems to be no manager around or anyone with the ability to expedite and quality check the food coming out of the kitchen and these kids don't seem to know what they're doing, or have poor training.
The owner/manager always worked the oven on the weekends historically which helped with the consistency at this place. That's not the case anymore. I haven't seen him in ages. Maybe he sold the place.
This is the third time in a month it's been terrible here and I will not spend anymore money at Superior Pizza until they fix their issues. I suspect if they don't, they will go the way of other Victoria restaurants and fade...

We tried this place based on a recommendation. The store itself was filthy. The floor of the kitchen was littered with black crud and cardboard and plastic binding straps . I was intrigued by the large commercial mixers because they obviously make their own dough. The mixer was dirty with caked on dried bits of flour. In the world of today when cleaning is even more important, this place ought to be shut down for their meagre cleaning standards.
The pies themselves were populated with fresh veggies, which was great. The pieces of meat tasted bottom tier. And, sadly the dough was vastly undercooked. See photo.
Often, pizza doesn't stand up to the real test of how well the leftovers reheat. In my case, I actually thought it reheated well and my day 2 experience was a bit better. Maybe the spices in the sauce bloomed. Maybe it was my own oregano, Italian seasoning and chilli peppers that I added from home that usurped my Day 1 memory with a slight improvement in my culinary experience.
I would never go back. On a Pizza Scale 1 to 10, 10 being the best, this...
Read moreInferior not Superior. Normally good. I'm from out of town. Got home, threw it all in fridge. A day later i see wrong salad, including ham I can't eat. I ordered a greek salad. I ordered greek salad dressing, why would i put that on Spinach salad with ham? 2 large pizzas, one ok, other had only 3 toppings, not 4 & i ordered bbq sauce instead of regular. Bbq sauce so miniscule it was barely detectable. Tried to let them know & possibly get a discount on next order. Guy on phone says he can't do anything because it's been 2 days. I said i live out of town. I can't just return anytime i like. I wanted to let them know how messed up the order is & not complain online. Here i am. Enjoy. They lost a customer with their attitude. Out of 100 people who don't like something, 1 person on average complains. The other 99 simply don't return. Business should thank the customers that speak up. Sad par for course these days. Wrong salad, bad...
