Before I begin, I want to state that I love bubble tea, and I have enjoyed Chatime for many years now. I thought to treat myself to their Kit Kat milk tea and added pearls. When I picked up my order, I noticed there were no pearls. I PAID for pearls. So I went back to tell them there were no pearls in my drink. The staff checked and didn't believe me. THE AUDACITY. So they asked me to open the drink and prove to them there were no pearls. I thought it was a little unnecessary, but did it anyway. As I expected, there were no pearls. So the barista asked me if I wanted some pearls on the side. Seriously? You want me to MAKE the drink I PAID you to make?! I declined and asked if I could have it in my drink. So they found a pair of scissors (hopefully sanitary), and cut a large hole in my drink. Added A QUARTER of the regular amount of pearls I would normally get, and handed me back the drink, with the milk tea on the cusp of spilling the second I moved. I thought this was rather inconsiderate. I asked if they would seal it up for me so I could enjoy my drink elsewhere without spilling it. She told me no. I was quite aghast. Thankfully, another staff asked for the drink and told me he would fix it. He had the decency to give me a sealed cup. But it should not have caused me this much upset for it to happen. Read moreI've been to this location twice. Both experiences were not good. Both times I had the same cashier. She was not welcoming nor friendly. I ordered a passionfruit black tea regular ice, regular sweet the first time. What I recieved was very light ice (room temp feel), not sweet, and I think I got the other passionfruit drink which was with seeds? (I've my drink at other locations and didn't recieved this.) I asked if it was my order and she said yes. I told her this is not what I ordered and she refused to get me a new one. And blamed me that is what I ordered. I threw it out I couldn't drink it. I thought I would give it another chance the 2nd time. I ordered a candied wintermelon iced tea. (Which I've order before at a different location.) The size, ice, and sweetness were correct. Tho instead of plain winter melon tea, I got winter melon tea latte. She checked that's my order and it was. When I complained that wasn't what I ordered. Read moreAfter reading some reviews here, I feel relieved lol since I won’t be the only one complaining, so here we go.
First of all, we came here because this is the only bubble tea store we could find in this area. Though nobody really drinks their bubble tea where I live (DT Van), as there are too many good competitors just on Robson St. It surprises me how busy this place is here. I guess no competition = good business.
Second, the girl with purple hair, wow, the worse customer service experience I’ve had this year. Even though it’s only April, she definitely would be No.1 on the list for this entire year! She doesn’t say hi or anything, looks to the side - not look at you, she may be mute too as she doesn’t say a word, I have to tell her everything, cup size, add-on, drink, sugar/ice level, all in one sentence. She just looks very impatient/bored all the time. I feel bad for her to make a living here when she absolutely doesn’t want to.
