Overall I would recommend Blenz Coffee Shop to anyone and would go back again while staying in Whistler. Morning coffee is a must for me and I sneak out of the hotel by 7 am while letting the rest of my party sleep in. The sunshine magnifies through the entire coffee shop in the morning to the point where the employee taking my order and me need to squint our eyes to communicate the order. I glance around the entire shop and only one table is being used because it is the only table being partially blocked from the sun. I try to sit down at another table and it simply does not work because of the sun and heat from the sun. After I walk outside I realize the other people have taken there coffee and found a public ledge or chair with shade to sit with their coffee. A simple morning window shade purchase can fix this place up and give it a normal coffee hang out vibe.
Quiche is really good and the coffee is solid. Service is laid back but good. I read there are new owners and I give them credit because if they can simply fix the morning sunshine exodus and maybe spruce up the inside just a bit to make it more appealing to linger they have one of the best locations in Whistler to have coffee peeps hang out in. I am pretty sure the owners will optimize this place in the near future so I do recommend to anyone to give Blenz a try while...
Read moreI spent in a week in Vancouver going to at least 2 coffee houses a day, including Bean Around the World, JJ Bean, Arbutus, The Snug Cafe and Bowen Island Roasting Company. Didn't make it to 49th Parallel. Blenz in Whistler Village not only knew what a double Breve was, but made it with superbly textured foam and delicious shots of coffee carefully extracted by the friendly barista. The tall good-looking guy. Yeah I'm a straight guy, but hey. Anyway. The coffee I got from the cafe on UBC campus at the medical sciences atrium was the poorest in every sense. An argumentative barista and an automatic espresso machine made me a weak-shot triple half-and-half latte. Learn the Breve, baristas. 1:2 ratio of espresso to foamed 1/2 and 1/2. Can't be simpler. As far as qualifications, I am a coffee roaster and cup coffee and espresso several...
Read moreI paused my activities to enjoy a quick break, treating myself to a delightful cup of coffee and a light snack. The presentation of our beverages was quite appealing, and my matcha latte proved to be delicious. Although I can't vouch for the coffee's taste as I didn't sample it, the service provided was friendly and welcoming. Regrettably, the bread loaf I selected turned out to be unsatisfactory, and I was unable to finish it, ultimately discarding it. Despite this disappointment, I must acknowledge the effort they put into crafting visually pleasing drinks. Therefore, I intend to revisit the establishment when I find myself in Whistler once more. My review for this place...
