Unfortunate experience after being super excited for tacos! Some staff were friendly but some seemed to just want to get you out of their hair.
Burrito was good and so was the pork taco (taco shells are good too) so this is where the 2 stars come from! But the vegan chorizo tacos were terrible, they name it a “spicy” taco but there was literally 0 spice (honestly unsure if they just forgot to add the spice) and the imitation of chorizo is just not well done - wish there was a real chorizo option! The Avocado sauce on top was great and was the only reason I could even eat the chorizo because it covered it up enough. My boyfriend took a bite to try and said “I couldn’t eat that, I don’t know how you are”.
Just really didn’t feel like these two meals should have been $60.00 and after leaving a good tip since you have to pay before you eat, you would think the servers would all be nice to you (and again some were nice) but there were a couple whose attitude were just unfortunate.
Also the server took away the pico de gallo when it was still half full but left our half full chips so we had to eat the rest of them dry… (ran to another table before I could even say anything). Which was sad because the pico de gallo was good.
Would love to give this place a second chance, especially since some food was good! Was just very disappointing experience leaving wishing we had gone somewhere else especially...
Read moreA busy little place that serves decent tacos, easy-drinking lime margaritas and huge burritos.
I arrived early and was lucky to get a table, because by the time I was done, there was a huge line up for people to order (you order and then receive a number for your food if you’re dining in). I got one of each of the meat tacos, some overpriced chips and guacamole and a lime margarita. The tacos were tasty and each had a distinct flavour, the kids quesadilla was big but pretty flavourless and the margarita was perfect for a hot summer day. Looking around at other orders, the burrito seemed to be the thing the order. They could easily feed two people and if the flavour was like the tacos, I’m sure they’d be pretty satisfying.
One of the big downsides to this place is that if you want to order another drink, you have yo wait in the same line as everyone else. By the look of it, you might be waiting 10-15 minutes just to order. Another downside is that the patio is pretty cramped and you’re sitting right beside people lining up. It’s not much for ambience, but if you were staying nearby, I’m sure it would be a good place for some take out.
Overall, not bad. I was curious about the Mexican Corner, but the prices there were quite a bit higher...
Read moreThis is a Mexican restaurant in Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. It is located on the perimeter of Whistler Village, so it's a little more challenging to locate. Except for items that are marked as large on the reader-board menu (and marked up in price), the portions are small. For example, each taco costs $3.95, yet they are less than single serving. You'll likely have to order at least 2 menu items to equal one, small serving. It's a restaurant that is messy. Tables aren't regularly bussed or cleaned, so customers are forced to clean up after the previous customers, if they want a table. Also, tables aren't wiped down by staff, so they're greasy and sticky. The food is only mediocre tasting. The beef taco was bland and lacked anything notable. It needed lots of help from sauces. The fish taco was good, yet so small it could have been served on a toothpick. The sweet pork taco was alright, yet too sweet. Chips were stale. The guacamole was only ok, yet expensive. We left hungry and wanting something to replace the taste...
