I am so disappointed in this place for a number of reasons. 1. I ordered three rolls and was charged $25 for this which is ridiculous overpriced. I am not talking specialty rolls - I’m talking California rolls and others similar to that type…basic rolls. 2. The California roll I ordered is pathetic - it is 99 percent rice and a ‘clipped toenails’ worth of crab meat. I’ve included a photo with the actual crab meat to rice ratio for your viewing pleasure. 3. The woman who took my order specifically asked me if I need chopsticks and soy sauce and I said ‘yes’. We got nothing. No soy sauce and no chopsticks….just disappointment after disappointment. One positive thing I will say is that their teriyaki chicken donburi is very tasty and not overly doused in teriyaki sauce which was nice….but mind you I had to eat this with my hands because there was no chopsticks or soy sauce despite the fact we actually exchanged words of needing them. Avoid this freaking dumpster fire of a sushi restaurant at all costs.

If you’re looking for cheap eats close to Whistler Village, Samurai Sushi is worth checking out; however, don’t expect too much in terms of taste and quality. You order by lining up and paying ahead of time. There is a separate line for take out orders. The counter person then delivers the food to you. After you finish, you’ll have to put away your own bowls in this small cramped cupboard. There is an extensive menu filled with different types of Japanese food as well as fusion food such as sushi wrapped in a flour tortilla. We were hungry but even then, we knew that the food was kind of lacking in taste and the texture for the agedashi tofu was a bit too hard. There is lots of parking in this plaza.

I've been a long-time customer and it's a shame to see the quality of food and service go down so much. After waiting forever to pickup my order I get home to open my Samurai Special to see that they didn't include the "spicy" or "crunchy" additions to my roll that I paid extra to add. As well, it took until I got home to realize they forgot to give me my Miso Soup too. I should have realized sooner, but also shouldn't be up to me to remind them of that. It was a busy evening I'll give them that but I also don't feel like that should sacrifice the service this much.

Well I usually have a great experience but last night was not. My friend and I realize it's 15 minutes before close but feel lucky to get there before and order because we've worked all day and are starving. We make an order after the till girl finishes talking with her friends and are asked if we'd like it to go or stay. Since we're hungry we decide quickly to stay and are promptly reminder by her that they are closing in 10 minutes and she didn't look happy about it and we catch her telling a mate that we've decided to stay to eat. Not to mention not even thanking me or acknowledging me as I slip $3.75 into the tip cup. What was I thinking. So we get a stare down as we sit. There friends are all around waiting for them to be done while eating the food they ordered just before us. Food came in great pace as usual. First plate came out. She sets down the plate and drops the chop sticks down and they scatter slightly and my friend still says thankyou with a puzzling look but no response just a quick turn. On the waitresses way back a friend comes in and gets a back rub at the till as he orders. The cold shoulder went on for the next plate as well and I had had enough and finally said something. I told her in a stern voice that if I wasn't wanted here why is the open sign up 10 minutes before close. I don't usually say things but it was pretty clear she didn't like us for staying. I will say that when we got up to leave she was pretty sure to say goodbye and thankyou very nicely. Of coarse because we rushed shoving food in our faces in less than 15 minutes. They were all smiles as we left. I hope you continue having success but there is an x with the...

Shockingly awful! The service and food could not be worse. This used to be our favourite sushi but it is hard to believe it is the same place. The teriyaki chicken was plain and sauce was horrendous. They should be embarrassed to serve this! Blend chicken with a squirt of supermarket sauce on top. Even the miso was horrible (how can you ruin miso?!), it had no fresh ingredients and taste like it came from a pack. My kids refused to eat it and I can’t blame them, I struggled to stomach it. To complete the premium experience I found a hair on my ginger and mentioned to the waitress, she took the hair away and that was it! She didn’t even ask if I wanted ginger (which is the bare minimum you would expect and with an apology for the disgusting situation, nope, she came back to clean another table like it was just the most normal thing ever, since when is ok to find hair in the food!?! Apparently at Samurai Sushi Whistler by Nesters road it is nowadays... It was just overall a terrible experience. Sad to see a great place gone down...
