Without exaggeration, this is the worst KFC (and fried chicken in general) I have ever tried.
Let's start with the good, for which they earn one star. We ordered a bucket combo with fries and corn online, and the order was ready for pickup within the estimate given, and was mostly correct - we specified dark meat in the options but seemed to be given the standard mixture. I'm very easy-going so this was not a big deal to me. The staff seemed quite friendly and efficient as well.
So, we started to eat, and this is where everything went downhill. Now, I am far from a fussy eater - I happily eat all kinds of cheap and post-expiry junk and it often upsets my wife that I seemingly have no standards as to what I will eat. I have eaten at other locations of KFC and while it has never been an impressive experience, it usually has been passable to varying degrees.
The chicken here was absolutely flavourless. The white meat was dry, and while the dark meat was reasonably juicy, it still lacked any flavour at all. The batter did not taste much like anything other than frying oil. My wife and I both could take only about two and a half pieces each before we could not stomach any more.
The fries were also flavourless, and had that kind of chewy powdery texture, although to be fair I suppose that's what happens to fries with take-out. But again, we have had fries with take-out from other places that were still crisp and delicious even after being transported in a car over some distance, and not just a 3-minute walk like we had at Whistler.
The corn kernels were OK but not great - again without much flavour and just swimming in oil.
This location is in a good position to grab a lot of business from visitors who just want a meal that isn't a finer dining experience, so I hope that this location can step up their quality because as it is currently, I recommend to...
Read moreI forget of what self control is and of how to share when you place a tub of fried chicken and chicken pop corn in front of me from this KFC. Honestly I think that American food tastes so much better in Canada because they're actually not allowed to use a lot of bad stuff for cooking due to health regulations, and meat quality up here is so much better. We've ordered a bunch of times on lazy no cook nights and from their popcorn chicken to their boneless tenders and 10 piece chicken buckets it all to us tastes better. This awesomeness could also be contributed to the fact that we are not used to having a KFC around us after living in areas that don't have it.
So why the three stars? it's because employees need to use deodorant it's really stinky in there sometimes, and when you come hungry and you want to eat it's very unappetizing. Also when they are busy they get busy and during this season (which is when this entire village is nutty and you need something quick and on the go because every restaurant is booked this place is a madhouse) there is no where to sit and your chicken will get cold before you make it back to you hotel. Too bad they...
Read moreMy family and I have ordered from here a few times and each time, our order has been incorrect. For example, being given the wrong sandwich. We've never bothered complaining about it, as mistakes happen. Once, we decided to call and ask if our order could be corrected and the man on the phone said we could, so we drove back and I went inside, and it was the same man as the one we ordered from and on the phone. When I went up to him and politely asked, he started to raise his voice and demanded to see that the previous order had been untouched. He accused us of apparently having done this before and was just being downright rude and unprofessional. I would have gladly brought in the order for him to check but his attitude was so off-putting. I have an anxiety disorder and I'm not a confrontational person, so being yelled at like that (and in front of a crowd) was awful. I ended up walking out without going back to get the sandwiches because I just no longer wanted to be there. I'm definitely never coming back to this KFC and I wish i could give even less...
