I was up visiting family and I was very eager and excited to go to A&W as they do not have that where I live. I ended up very disappointed.There was a party of four adults and one child we took a few minutes to determine what to order, but we stood off the side and let other people go first while we were deciding that way we didn’t hold up the line when we went to order the woman who took her order was very impatient, which is funny as there was no one else in line .She took the first item for the order asked if there was anything else and we said yes everything was together. The second person ordered again asked us if there was anything else and we were like, . Yes we still are ordering there’s five of us… we still need to order..we ordered for the third person and then she goes OK your total is and gives me my total without even offering to let me order, and seemed either herself to be rushing or rushing me unsure which but it was very off putting and set the tone for the entire interaction. And I ended up not getting anything as a result, Clearly it’s not about customer service here.. The staff (every one of them), are easily some of the kindest, generous, and knowledgeable staff I have ever seen. We live in the area and whenever we want fast food, we only go to A&W in Southdale because of the amazing level of customer service we get every-time.
The orders are always right, the food is always amazing, but it is the staff that really makes the difference. When you leave there, you feel as if you were really appreciated and liked that you choose to go there.
Every single restaurant, store, business, etc needs to have the staff come in and teach them how perfect customer service is done.
They are easily some of the nicest people I have ever met and for that reason alone, we always go to the A&W in Southdale for hamburgers, chips, chicken burgers, etc.

Read moreIt was around 10:45 pm when I got a papa burger and onion rings. I drove home hoping to enjoy my burger and rings. I was eating the burger perfectly fine until I've noticed a very long black hair in my burger. So I just decided to stop eating the burger and bring it back. I brought it back in less than an hour since I live close by and explain that there was a hair in my burger and the gentleman in the drive thru intercom said to bring it to the window. There was a car ahead so I had to wait quite some time which wasn't a problem at first. Then when I drove up there was a blonde male with glasses asked me what's wrong and I re-explained that there was a hair and showed him the burger. At first he told me I ate too much of it and I thought that was ridiculous, then I showed him the long hair which I have short hair. Then he told me no one worked there that had black hair. Which I bet he couldn't even see because it was so dark out. He didn't even take a chance to look at the burger.
