Unfortunately I was distracted and hungry and forgot to take photos before eating, but the presentation/appearance was as good as I'd expect from decent quality sushi takeout. Better than grocery store but not as nice as eating in would have been on real dishes.
The sushi and service were great, good quality fish, fresh rice, and I didn't get sick even after ordering a range of dishes and eating some of it the next day (not just California roll and other safe basics). Prices were medium high but comparable to other mid-range sushi in Winnipeg. They included a free small soup (I think mushroom miso) which I didn't order, but it smelled and looked so disgusting I couldn't even bring myself to taste it. It basically smelled like warm vomit and looked like semi-opaque, greenish-grey phlegm with big dark mushroom pieces suspended in it.
Where this place loses big points is the interior state of the restaurant. There was half finished renovations/materials pushed into a corner but I couldn't see any other areas freshly redone or torn up, the rest of the dining area was dirty and shabby, and the bathroom was even worse. When I went to wash my hands the bathroom was all but destroyed. Dirty and broken fixtures, old paint and dirty bare concrete floor. It did not look freshly torn up (like for renos) it looked like it had been that way for a very long time. The mirror was dirty and the taps and sink and soap dispenser were dirty. I used my sleeve to open the door when I exited, or what's the point of having washed my hands? Very glad I was getting takeout because if I'd intended to dine in I would have changed my mind immediately...

We called before going and checked their Instagram, I do see they have made recent posts of warnings that they will be closed which is good! They answered the phone promptly and we made a reservation for two around 6:30pm. Our server was super kind and the food was really good. It is more pricey compared to other sushi restaurants, so that's why I'd give it a 4/5. But service is 5/5. The owners seem really nice and they provided sesame balls on the house. Really nice interiors and booths as well. Wasn't busy on a Wednesday evening!
2/5: Was really excited to go for dinner here based on the ratings and photos, we tried calling the google phone number and the instagram phone number but no one picked up. However, we proceeded to go because the hours on Google and on their Instagram said they were open, so we figured they might have been to busy to answer their phones, which we didn't mind waiting. It was around 5:45pm and we drove all the way there, which to our disappointment they were not even open. All the lights were off and the door was locked.
I do want to give a fair review and this rating will be updated when I actually try the food. But it wasted our time and gas, and there was no update on the Instagram. But pretty hard to want to go back if we are not even sure if they...
