Nuburger — Restaurant in Winnipeg

Went to Nuburger yesterday for the first time. My wife and I have been wanting to try their food for a while. Since we were in Osborne Village, we decided to go stop at that location for dinner. We were both extremely pleased with our experience there! Had my first Nuburger and I have to say that I was very surprised as to how great it was! It has been a while since having a restaurant burger that was as juicy as this was! I chose to have my burger in a bowl rather a bun, but my wife had the bun and she says she loved hers as well! Nuburger makes their own iced tea and lemonade as well they have fountain drinks with free refills🙂 Not only was the food good, but so was the service! Everyone was so polite and friendly and very helpful! So yes, the food was delicious and the service was fantastic, but the restaurant itself was amazing!

1. Nuburger is Manitoba made and they the the Winnipeg Jets logo on their door as you walk in👍 2)We had our dog with us and they were more than fine with him joining us outside on the picnic table for our meal. He's just a little yorkiepoo so he just sat up on the table. 3)Next is the cups our drinks were in. The cups are made from plants and are compostable. They are extremely environmental friendly with separate bins for garbage, recycling, and composting. If you weren't sure what to through in where all you had to do was ask a staff member and they would take care of it for you. I just wish they had paper straws rather than plastic, but I'm sure those are properly recycled. 4)They are part of the Mealshare program. I had never heard of it before, so I had to look it up and what a great program it is. I copied a small summary from Google which said "Mealshare is a non-profit organization that donates meals to children in need by connecting local restaurants with local charities". There is more on the Mealshare website which I suggest checking out. 5)Also on the door as you walk into the restaurant is a sticker with rainbow🌈 colours which means that they are LGBTQ2+ friendly which is important to me because I am a transwoman. Even the (single person) washrooms are not gender specific. I really like that idea and wish that every place with single person washrooms...

Lots of positive experiences with Nuburger in the past. However, this time I'm not sure what was going on.

Went to go and pick up an order for my wife that was placed online. I was a few minutes behind their estimated delivery time, but order wasn't ready yet but they were busy. No big deal.

Bathrooms locked. Signs saying bathrooms are for customers only. Okay, fine. I go and ask the person I asked about my order originally to gain access to bathroom. Without missing a beat, I get a very stern "Bathrooms are for customers only." And before I could even answer that I was a customer, she had walked down further into the kitchen and I tried to ask after her with no response.

Took another 10 minutes to get my order. Same person that told me about bathroom plomped my order on the little table by end of kitchen/register area and shouted the name as she walked away so I couldn't even ask again.

Wife indicated the chicken burger was fine but the fries were old and cold, abnormal for NuBurger.

I just hope they were having a bad night. I am guessing they assumed I was another Food Delivery service driver, because there was a slew of them waiting.

I will adjust the review if next visit is better. Want to give...

Decided to order from Nuburger for my mothers birthday this weekend and was thoroughly disappointed. Firstly, my mom cut back on eating meat for the past two months so she wanted to get the Field of Dreams burger. Upon getting home, it appeared that we were given a chicken burger instead. She was fairly hungry from saving her appetite until the food came so she ended up eating it regretfully. Second, my father is an avid meat eater and I rarely ever hear him complain about his food but he said the North Flag he had ordered was excessively salty, specifically the patty and the sauce. Third, I ordered the Billie Eilish as a salad bowl but I found that the ratio of the patty provided to the amount of greens was 1:4 and was douced in sauce.
