One of my favourite places to visit!
If you’ve never been here before you’re missing out! As soon as you walk in you’re greeted with a cozy like European feel.
The restaurant is usually very busy. Even with a reservation you may have to wait a few minutes, but the wait is well worth it!
We were greeted quickly and waited a few minutes while our server prepared our table. We sat down and reviewed the menu. While we waited we ordered a couple danish beers.
Our waitress was very kind, attentive and knowledgeable.
I ordered the Pork Schnitzel while my coworker ordered the Chicken Schnitzel. We both ordered the cabbage as our choice of side.
While waiting for our dinners the waitress brought us a basket of their delicious homemade bread.
Our dinners arrived fairly quick. Everything on the plate was still very hot! You can tell that the food comes out as soon as it’s cooked. I actually had to wait to try the cabbage as it was still steaming.
We started off by tasting each schnitzel! Both the chicken and the pork have a crispy breading on outside while the inside was very tender and juicy! We couldn’t decide which we liked better. They were both great! The potatoes and sweet and sour cabbage had great flavour and accompanied the schnitzel perfectly.
After our meals, our waitress recommended their homemade desserts. We decided to share an eclair.. and WOW I am glad we did. It was one of the best desserts I have had.
Overall it was a great experience! You will not leave hungry, and the prices are...
Read moreDidn't expect bread & butter serving before the main so really enjoyed it. Tried the soup borscht but was quite salty to my taste. Read many perfect reviews about the schnitzels and as the server recommended, I ordered chicken.
Great portion and a nice touch of a few fruit slices on the plate. Was wondering though what's signature about the potato salad... a bit odd to me to have cold potato cubes with the supposedly hot meal. Wished it was a (or had an option of) warm mashed potatoe instead and thought their potato salad would fit better for making sandwiches.
The meat was not too dry but after a few bites alone we were longing for some kind of gravy to go with it. There was only one staff bussing the whole floor and we failed several times to get the server's attention. By the time I asked & got a suggested sauce (honey mustard tartar?) and a side dish to help us finish the meal, it was rather too late and we had to pack up most of that side dish (diced pickled beets, served in a large amount only). I also ran out of hot water for my tea and asked for it but the lone server was too busy to make that happen
Maybe next time will try some other menu that comes with warm sauce or ask for the fried cabbage not picked beets as...
Read moreI'm not sure what took me so long to visit this gem, but I'm glad I finally did. I recommend a reservation because this place is not very big and they were packed for dinner on a Friday evening. The restaurant decor itself is a little tired however it didn't matter much to me because the food was great! The service, very efficient, one server and an assistant. They worked hard and fast to serve everyone that seemed to come in around the same time.I had the borscht to start which was pretty good. Pork schnitzel was outstanding, tasty and crispy, dinner portion comes with two and even though I loved it, no way I could eat 2. It was served with potatoes O'Brian which were okay, I'd seek a different option next time, they tasted tired and warmed up, like leftovers. Sweet and sour cabbage was very tasty. Had a side of mushroom gravy for the schnitzel but honestly it wasn't needed, it the schnitzel is out standing on its own, though the gravy was also delicious. I'd go back for sure! This is the place if your looking for fantastic comfort food. Go while you still can, I understand the owners are retiring and it is...
